Job Description

The job duties required, but not limited to, are general housekeeping, rework, prepare packaging, package product, food manufacturing, and other duties as assigned by supervision. Following all general manufacturing practices rules and regulations required by plant policies, including but not limited to attendance policies. Following all safety rules and regulations, this includes but not limited to wearing proper PPE: safety glasses, proper footwear, hearing protection, safety gloves and fall protection etc. Following mix instructions and provide clear concise documentation of production work. 

Qualified mixer candidates must be able to perform a variety of jobs, tasks, or duties as required; and must be able to work their bid shift, overtime, and weekends as required.

  • Recipe construction/adjustment and understanding
  • Knowledge of process flow and tracing flow and lines throughout the process.
  • Understanding basic mix variations including salt content, moisture and color.
  • Operate a motorized forklift in a safe and efficient manner (requires certification).
  • Confirm with Supervisor which oils to be ran and properly transfer all oils to supply the production lines between the tanks. (this is done via computer screen).
  • Operate kombinator and all equipment related to the process per operating procedures.
  • Operate votators and all equipment related to this process per operating procedures.
  • Operate and tend machines to mix or blend any of a wide variety of food products such as edible oils, dressings, margarines, spreads, shortenings, cooking Sherries, vinegars, cooking wines, etc.
  • Monitor and regulate gauges, recording instruments, flow meters, and thermometers to correctly adjust the addition of raw materials, mixing temperatures, mixing speeds, etc. to maintain product quality, and ensure safe and efficient operation.
  • Operation of CIP skids in addition to breakdown and cleaning of line components.
  • Document Flush-outs and monitor all tank levels.
  • Monitor Ammonia refrigeration system (compressors).
  • Reset any failures, notify a supervisor of any issues and document conditions daily.
  • Knowledge of chemical handling procedures including PPE required.
  • Perform a variety of jobs, tasks, or duties as required; and must be able to work their bid shift, overtime, and weekends as required.
  • Complete all appropriate documentation regarding product movements, batch sheets, and ingredients addition and any additional paperwork correctly to perform these job duties and submit them to the proper department(s).
  • Be able to mix additives accurately using assisted equipment.
  • Basic understanding of pumps, valves, and how to change filters.
  • Fill-in for other departments if and when directed by Management.
  • Deliver tank samples to the plant lab, and when busy, notify the boiler operators that they need to sample the tanks for the lab.
  • Ensure your area of responsibility is kept clean.


Qualifications

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent

Related Experience: 0-2 years of related experience. Mixing machine operating, blending, food industry or manufacturing experience.

Rate of pay: $19.98 per hour

Physical Requirements:

  • Must successfully pass Stratas Foods pre-qualification lift test.
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs. repeatedly.
  • Must be able to climb stairs, bend, stoop, lift, and kneel.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces.
  • Ability to work with heights.
  • Ability to stand throughout the day.
  • Must be able to work in hot conditions. (tank farm).
  • Need to be able to use tools for opening cannisters and changing filters.
