The PositionOperator Level I
Job Summary
Assists the Production Supervisor / Foreman in operating and maintaining production system and mechanical equipment. Most of the job is bagging and stacking of goods to prepare for shipment. Some maintenance will be done by assistant with proper training. Fork Lift will be operated by assistant in the warehouse and outside to load trucks, after proper training.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
- Following written and/or verbal instructions from the foreman
- Bagging and stacking of finished goods
- Preparing shipments and loading trucks using fork lift
- Assisting the QC team
- Performing housekeeping tasks
- Following safety requirements
- Assisting with detecting malfunctions or need for repair, adjustment or lubrication and assisting with the repair or adjustment
- Can repair simple malfunctions, adjustments.
- Works one level above the Operator Level I
Hourly Wage: $21/per hour plus benefits
Education and Experience Requirements
Education:
- High School diploma or GED
Experience:
Knowledge, skills, abilities and other characteristics:
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating & maintenance instructions and procedure manuals; ability to write reports and correspondence; ability to speak effectively to customers, suppliers or employees of the organization
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide and calculate figures and amounts such as averages, percentages and volume
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists; ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form
- Mechanical aptitude
Physical/Environmental Aspects
Physical Demands:
- Regularly required to stand, reach, climb, balance, walk and kneel
- Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
Work Environment:
- Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, airborne particles, weather conditions, high areas, extreme heat near the furnaces and hot cyclones, and moderate noise levels
