Contract: Full-time, 38.5 hours per week

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Operative to join our Dry Processing team. We are looking for a motivated, safety-conscious individual who thrives in a hands-on operational environment.
In this role, you will help maintain operational efficiency by providing cover for Tubepress and Lander positions, carrying out routine equipment maintenance, delivering accurate production reporting, and ensuring full compliance with health and safety, environmental, and quality standards.
You will also be responsible for bulk loading customer products, maintaining high housekeeping standards, and supporting the site through minor infrastructure and equipment repairs to ensure continuous plant performance.
Summary of the role:
- Operational Excellence: Manage landing operations, optimize Alfa units/plant performance, maintain accurate process records and production reports (tons, densities, flows), repair Tubepresses, and execute efficient bulk loading.
- Safety & Compliance: Ensure safe operations, keep river discharge point 20/6 within consent parameters (ISO14001/ISO9001), comply with LOTOTO protocols, conduct daily shift checks (Soda building, Effluent plant, discharge points), follow Risk Assessments and Safe Methods of Work, and conduct Take 5s.
- Maintenance & Facility Management: Support preventive maintenance, conduct minor infrastructure repairs (drains, water lines, hoses, fencing, groundwork, screens, bladders), uphold 5S standards, and perform cleaning, painting, and landscaping.
Do you have the following attributes?
- Education/Qualifications: GCSE in English, Maths, and Science as a minimum, plus a Full Driving Licence.
- Specific Experience: Competencies in Landing, Tube pressing, and Bulk Loading (or ability to work towards them), background in basic general maintenance, and desirable competencies in wet/dry sampling, Alfa 320 operation, and the Effluent Plant.
- Competencies & Skills: Flexibility, good knowledge of company Safe Working Rules, basic IT skills, and a good standard of numeracy and literacy.
