About the role
Cormac are seeking a number Operatives to become part of our team delivering highway maintenance services to the residents of Cornwall.
We successful applicants will be based in North East Cornwall working primarily out of our Tolpetherwin (Launceston) and Tiscott Wood (Bude) depots.

You will be required to undertake a variety of manual tasks associated with highway maintenance as part of a team, your responsibilities will include:
Carrying out minor highway works such as pothole repairs, kerb repairs and other similar work
Maintaining highway drainage
Providing or assisting with traffic management
Vegetation clearance, strimming and hedge trimming
The use of small plant and machinery such as strimmers, disc saws, plate compactors etc
Using constructed related materials such as asphalt and concrete

About you
We are looking for a candidate who:
Has a good general awareness of health and safety
Has previous experience in undertaking manual tasks
Is prepared to work in an outdoors environment, sometimes in adverse weather conditions
Holds a driving license, experience of driving 3.5t and 5.0t vehicles would be desirable
Has experience operating small, powered equipment such as disc cutters, petrol breakers, and plate compactors (useful but not essential)
Is willing to learn and progress within the company

Salary: £25,948 plus overtime
Working Hours: 37 hour working week
