What you will be doing

As part of the AmerisourceBergen Corporate Responsibility & Sustainability team, the Sustainability Specialist/Analyst will play a key role in developing and driving the implementation of the Global Sustainability vision and strategy to make AmerisourceBergen Corporation a more sustainable enterprise.

  • Contribute to development of company's overall Global Sustainability strategy, helping to track and manage climate-related risks and opportunities, greenhouse gas emissions management, waste management and recycling, and more.
  • Manage and track sustainability and greenhouse gas emissions data for AmerisourceBergen facilities in company dashboard. Collaborate with global stakeholders to collect and aggregate data for the enterprise.
  • Support the organization's efforts to achieve greenhouse gas reduction goals (science-based targets), waste reduction goals, and more.
  • Support the development and implementation of our renewable energy strategy.
  • Manage relationship with third party energy consultants, including coordinating energy supply contracts, enterprise-wide energy usage data and energy efficiency rebates.
  • Track and support packaging reduction and innovations.
  • Work with company stakeholders and external partners to advance sustainability efforts and AmerisourceBergen across operations and the supply chain; act as a sustainability SME/consultant to our internal stakeholders to provide expertise on sustainability best practices, projects and initiatives.
  • Support the collection, aggregation, and narrative development for annual and ongoing ESG reporting for all environmental sustainability subject areas. Specifically, support data inputs for annual Global Sustainability Report, CDP, DJSI, Ecovadis, customer-specific requests/RFPs, and more.
  • Benchmark best management practices in sustainability material topic areas.
  • Support team member engagement opportunities as needed, including leading enterprise-wide Earth Month activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


What your background should look like

  • Preferred training in Sustainability or related field through a four-year bachelor's degree program, advanced degree a plus; requires 2 to 4 years' experience.
  • Strong understanding of Sustainability best practice and trends; experience working with and calculating greenhouse gas inventory datasets, including scope 3 emissions data; strong working knowledge of ESG reporting frameworks, initiatives, and disclosures, specifically Science Based Target Initiative (SBTi), Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), Taskforce on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD), CDP, and others
  • Strong analytical skills and problem-solving ability
  • Strong aptitude to create, edit and manage complex data files
  • Strong aptitude with technology tools and applications
  • Good presentation skills; effective at both oral and written communication
  • Strong proficiency with MS Office suite of products, advanced excel expertise and Power BI experience a plus
  • Strong communication skills; ability to communicate effectively with various parties of different subject areas and backgrounds
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and follow a project plan
  • Ability to facilitate a positive work environment

*This Salary Range reflects a National Average for this job. The actual range may vary based on your locale. Ranges in Colorado-specific locations may be up to 10% lower than the minimum salary range, and 12% higher than the maximum salary range.
