GRAIL is seeking a Strategic Partnerships and Initiatives Manager. GRAIL's strategic initiatives team is tasked with 1) securing multi-year partnerships with key institutions across the US, driving the acceleration of evidence, to support multi-cancer early detection and 2) driving key strategic initiatives. This role is responsible for coordinating, executing, and reporting on initiatives with key partners. The successful candidate will be responsible for progressing key partnerships and coordinating various cross-functional activities related to the partnership objectives. This role will be accountable for building strong and valued relationships with partners and compliantly liaising with Clinical Development, R&D, Business Development, Medical Affairs, and Product Management Organization to initiate appropriate projects and activities related to the partnerships.


As part of our team, you will be required to successfully navigate complex programs, lead with influence, and create efficient but comprehensive communication channels both internally and externally. Partnership projects will span all areas of research, implementation science, population health, and real-world evidence generation.


This role requires an appreciation of the healthcare ecosystem, molecular diagnostics, and how to execute on research initiatives that support GRAIL’s mission to detect cancer early, when it can be cured. Without exception, this role requires a positive, team-based attitude that is ready to bring a new shift in healthcare that could impact patient outcomes globally.


This role is based in Menlo Park.

You Will:

  • Act as a point of contact for ongoing initiatives, working closely with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment with partners and to drive towards successful execution of partnership concepts 
  • Coordinate scheduling partnership discussions, collating and disseminating agendas, and minutes, and tracking action items and progress
  • Coordinate with internal GRAIL stakeholders on partnership concepts
  • Provide assistance and coordination with contracting and statement of work drafting
  • Provide assistance in running the cross-functional projects 
  • Establish and maintain project timeline and manage to scope, budget, and timeline
  • Provide regular reporting on project status to internal and external project team members
  • Manage multiple activities across different partners with the support of the GRAIL relationship owner.
  • Anticipate potential issues and proactive troubleshooting, escalation, and problem solving, as needed

Your Background Will Include:

  • Minimum of a BA/BS in a scientific field is required, while an advanced degree is desirable in a subject area related to device, diagnostic, and/or drug development.
  • Ideal candidate has 5+ years in healthcare, life sciences, or related field with 3 years in alliance management, project management or related function and shown leadership skills in life sciences or related industry. 
  • Exceptional interpersonal and relationship management skills
  • Demonstrated ability to optimally lead cross functionally, interface with and influence clinical and leadership team stakeholders
  • Strong written and oral communication skills comfort with presenting to senior leadership

Colorado salary range: $120k - $149k.



For Colorado-based applicants, the actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance.
