About the job
The Red Hat Cloud Platforms Business team is looking for a Senior Technical Writer to join our growing team focused on Advanced Cluster Security for Kubernetes. In this role, you will work with our product management and engineering teams and other subject matter experts to create product documentation and other technical content for the industry's leading Kubernetes-native security solution. You will actively contribute to helping customers understand and maximize the value our products deliver to them. You will fit right in if you are customer-focused and enjoy communicating technical concepts to large audiences. As a Senior Technical Writer, you will engage with relevant stakeholders across Red Hat. This is a great opportunity to work on a fast-growing product alongside some of the brightest minds in the cloud-native ecosystem.
What you will do

  • Collaborate with product managers, engineers, documentation program managers, and other stakeholders to create and maintain high-quality documentation and release notes for our product
  • Work with the quality engineering and support teams to identify opportunities to proactively address areas of improvement in documentation
  • Develop working code examples jointly with engineering project teams
  • Engage with customer feedback programs to address gaps in technical documentation and continually improve the end-to-end user experience from onboarding to usage
  • Contribute actively and own our internal documentation toolchain, including the publishing platform and issue-tracking tools
  • Maintain GitHub repositories and manage testing or deployment related to documentation
  • Research and develop knowledge of relevant ecosystem technologies to inform content development and focus areas


What you will bring

  • 3+ years of experience with technical writing for enterprise end users
  • Demonstrated record of writing technical content, including feature descriptions, customer use cases, release notes, and procedural instructions using industry best practices
  • Experience operating in a Linux environment using the command line
  • Knowledge of version control systems and Git
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and collaboration skills on cross-functional teams
  • High attention to detail and solid ability to manage multiple, competing priorities
  • Bachelor's or graduate degree, preferably in computer science, IT, or a related discipline


The following are considered a plus:

  • Familiarity with modular and topic-based documentation
  • Experience with modern documentation toolchains
