The Red Hat Engineering team is looking for a Senior Technical Support Engineer to join us. In this role, you will review OpenStack upstream codes and open bugs to help the customers with software performance issues or other issues in the production environment after the new version release. You will analyze and recommend ways in which customers design and implement their lab or production environment based on user requirements.
What you will do
- Work with engineering, technical account managers, and software maintenance engineers to obtain information about the limitation of new software updates and ways to fix them
- Analyze customer data for issues they have in their production or lab environment
- Contribute to the correction of the company's official product documentation when lab tests do not match with official documentation
- Partner with OpenStack communities to develop and review patches and test cases
- Analyze upstream development against current customer reported defects and develop patches to resolve the issue
- Use command line tools to diagnose network issues and message queue problems
What you will bring
- Bachelor's degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in computer science, computer engineering, electronic engineering or a related field and 2+ years of experience working in the job offered or a related role
- Must have 2+ years of experience with Linux or UNIX system administration; Linux kernel and networking; OpenStack architecture and administration; troubleshooting and debugging; and customer service and technical support
