Job Description

This role reports directly to the Director, Global Supply Chain Operations and requires a broad level of experience and understanding of supply chain management and best practices in warehousing, fulfillment, transportation, packaging, and supplier performance management. This role requires the ability to work both individually and collaboratively within a multi-site cross-functional organization. In this role, you will integrate complex and disparate supply chain data (variable and attribute) to drive global and regional optimization and efficiency. Reports, models, and data driven recommendations can be generated for all levels across the company (including Executive leadership) to enable more robust business decision making. You will partner with key supply chain partners and internal global and regional stakeholders to drive operational improvements. This role includes supplier performance monitoring, driving multiple initiatives and developing mechanisms to manage continuous improvement initiatives at scale. Finally, you will be an advocate for Whole Foods Market’s core value of win-win supplier relationships throughout our supply chain. Key attributes to ensure success in this role include a strong attention to detail and ability to coordinate and align multiple stakeholders (ex. internal customers/colleagues and external suppliers) to drive problem resolution and positive change. High intrinsic motivation, flexibility and positively natured are other keys for success in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Perform and/or lead ad hoc analysis, make recommendations, and drive continuous improvement actions and initiatives (ex. capacity, incoming quality, on time delivery, order/delivery schedule optimization, etc.)
  • Define, develop, refine, and/or implement global supply chain initiatives and actionable reporting/metrics to enhance business efficiency and effectiveness
  • Gather, develop, integrate, review, validate, analyze, report using supply chain data and drive data driven improvements
  • Monitor top Supplier processes and performance KPIs globally and regionally; identify patterns, trends, and challenges; work with key stakeholders to determine and address root cause issues and ensure sustainable, long-term solutions
  • Support execution of the Global Supplier Relationship Framework (i.e. quarterly scorecard/business reviews for top suppliers)
  • Engage with global stakeholders to formulate both short-term tactical and long-term strategic directions
  • Work effectively with Global Supply Chain & Retail Operations team members including analysts, business process experts, contract auditors and strategists
  • Partner with the Supply Chain Audit team to resolve contract execution opportunities
  • Partner with external Supplier Sales, Customer Care and Operations teams and internal WFM Global Support Organizations (Tech, Merchant, Finance, Account Payable) and WFM Regional operations

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of Warehousing and Fulfillment (Manhattan WMS, Wave picking, Labor) and domestic Transportation (Parcel, Truckload), and other Logistics activities performed in support of Best in Class Global Supply Chain
  • Highly detail oriented with strong project management and leadership skills as well as demonstrated expertise in problem-solving, change management and time management
  • Requires excellent interpersonal, communication (both written & verbal), presentation, prioritization and organizational skills, with the ability to analyze complex situations quickly
  • Serves as a trusted advisor both internally and externally and shifts comfortably between the big picture strategic thinking and the tactics and execution required to achieve outcomes; Identifies risks, creates contingency plans and overcomes barriers
  • Demonstrates a nuanced understanding of the various business models of key strategic partners and competitors
  • Assesses how key functions, processes, and operating models impact the business and financial performance; delivers recommendations on how to optimize them
  • Requires strong proficiency with MS office (Excel, Pivot & PowerPivot tables, SharePoint, Teams, PowerPoint, Word, Visio, etc.)
  • Alteryx workflow development and ability to create/maintain databases preferred
  • Passion for WFM’s mission
  • Ability to travel domestically as necessary

Education & Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of experience gathering, analyzing, and manipulating business process data within a global supply chain, logistics, quality, and/or finance environment
  • BA/BS degree and 8-10 years’ relevant experience (ex. Supply Chain, Lean/Six Sigma, engineering, logistics, program mgmt.)
  • Master’s degree preferred
