Main-mission communication satellites, wideband links, command and telemetry, and terrestrial networks, along with their enabling technologies, are the domain of the Communication Technologies and Engineering Division. The division comprises all aspects, from architectures to implementation; our engineers work directly with corporate customers to ensure robust and resilient communications.
The Communication Architectures Department (CAD) performs trade studies, analyses, and simulations to optimize the overall communications performance of terrestrial, satellite, launch vehicle, and ground-based systems. CAD also guides the development of spectrum regulations and policies to assure critical wireless systems have access to necessary spectrum resources.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Research and guide Aerospace and government customers on spectrum registration and documentation requirements
- Work with team members to verify technical equipment specifications and to ensure data submissions are correct
- Maintain and adhere to spectrum management databases and registration processes
- Gather, formulate, update and retain spectrum data records to keep information accurate and current
- Research and analyze data to support specialized studies and other activities
- Participate in multi-organizational meetings to coordinate workflow and licensing issues.
- Provide back-up office administrative support
What’ll You Need to be Successful
Minimum Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent and at least 2 years of professional experience
- This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, which is issued by the US government. U.S citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.
- Interest in being trained to adapt current skills to spectrum management and other projects
- Experience with Microsoft applications including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
- Ability to handle multiple priorities and projects
- Effective interpersonal skills to coordinate efforts and work with other internal and external organizations
- Demonstrated flexibility and ability to adapt to changing organizational needs
- Ability to travel, less than 5% anticipated
How You Can Stand Out
It would be impressive if you have one or more of these:
- Bachelors degree or equivalent experience
- 5 years of experience or more working in this field
- Current and Active Top Secret / Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) clearance
- Experience with spectrum registration processes, databases, and software (El CID, ITU, Spectrum XXI)
- Experience and familiarity in communication systems
- Ability to work on Communication Space Policy activities
