What we’re looking for:
We are seeking an IT Support Associate to join our Engineering organization and help manage the onboarding and offboarding process, assign physical assets, grant access to various systems, support enterprise SaaS products, enforce security policies, and more. The ideal candidate is customer service oriented, detail- and data-obsessed, with excitement for problem-solving and working collaboratively with others in a fast-paced, highly dynamic environment. This is an exciting and challenging opportunity to expand our core IT team in order to sustain our rapid growth.
We are prioritizing hiring for our D.C. office, with this role reporting to the Head of Information Security.
What you'll do:
- Install, maintain and configure hardware and software systems according to company policies
- Troubleshoot and repair network, hardware, and software components
- Able to work with the Mobile Device Manager and software deployment system
- Perform routine maintenance and inspection of network and server systems
- Test network and server systems to verify functionality and performance
- Perform hardware and software upgrades to achieve optimum performance levels
- Perform root cause analysis of complex problems and provide corrective actions
- Maintain IT infrastructure and manage help desk issues
- Perform system backup and database archiving processes to ensure data recoverability
- Update software antivirus on a regular basis
- Provide technical support to servers, networks, telephones, and other computing platforms
- Order and stock equipment and supplies when necessary
- Provide preliminary diagnosis and triaging for a range of technical incidents
- Provide advice, support, and help train users during the deployment of new technologies or features
- Monitor and control expenses within the allotted budget
- Assist in installation and maintenance of telephone system
- Empower, guide, and maximize a team of mission-driven engineers to solve challenging problems in the energy industry by building out security solutions
- Deliver results in the fast-paced environment of a growing startup while always treating team members and colleagues with empathy & humanity
What will help you succeed:
- 1+ years of experience in IT and/or IT related support experience
- Progressively responsible experience in the development, installation, and maintenance of information systems
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal; able to work collaboratively with a team, yet maintain a self-starter attitude
- High level of patience and flexibility
- Strong organizational, technical, and analytical skills; detail-oriented
- Ability and internal drive to problem-solve, both creatively and pragmatically
- Curious about technology and how it can be used to solve business problems
- General understanding of networking (DHCP. DNS, Internal and External IP Structure)
- Proficiency in GSuite, Zoom, or Okta Administration a plus
- Professional technical certification(s): Microsoft, Apple, Cisco, etc., a plus
