As part of the Corporate Systems and Identity Management leadership team, the Director, Portfolio Management and Transformation will focus on building the frameworks to drive a best-in-class employee experience while applying modern engineering techniques and consistently innovating by challenging existing processes and leveraging new products. The position will oversee the creation, alignment, and governance of all Corporate Systems and Identity roadmaps while developing a set of common portfolio management and delivery frameworks spanning architecture, and engineering functions.
These functions will be accomplished through a highly matrixed partnership across a large and disparate portfolio of business and engineering teams. Requires superior relationship management skills and have to live on the highest rung of the accountability ladder ... you may not do the work but you are accountable for the outcomes. This role is based in our Eden Prairie, MN offices. (with in office work 3 days per week)
Key success metrics are the creation and adherence to strategic roadmaps, customer NPS scores, high quality and efficient delivery of new capabilities and features, and operational stability.
Primary Responsibilities:

  • Creation of the frameworks and governance of capability roadmaps that align to both our business roadmaps AND our enterprise architecture roadmaps
  • Ensure creation and adherence to architecture best practices across all CSD and Identity Management teams
  • Ensure creation and adherence to engineering best practices across all CSD and Identity Management teams
  • Ensure strong cross-collaboration practices across multiple business and IT delivery teams to govern quality and efficient delivery
  • Create a strong Change and Adoption program to help tie perceived value of changes to the actual outcomes
  • Define, develop, and implement Portfolio Reporting, Metrics, Governance processes and key Standards & Best Practices (Templates, Processes, Agile Project Management, Coaching, Use of Tools - Rally) to ensure delivery against goals
  • Create optimized situational awareness across teams through a modern, timely, and effective communications program.
  • Creation of department level employee experience program along with development of mission, value, and purpose statements

Required Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in the technology profession
  • 5+ years of experience driving large, complex, multi-organization initiatives as a Program and/or Delivery Manager
  • 3+ years of experience leveraging Agile methodologies; or equivalent understanding of various delivery methodologies and when to apply them
  • Demonstrated experience communicating and presenting information to Senior Leadership
  • Proven capacity to handle ambiguity - Ability to define and shape organizational structure Technology Careers with Optum 5+ years of experience leveraging Agile methodologies; or equivalent understanding of various delivery methodologies and when to apply them
  • Full COVID-19 vaccination is an essential job function of this role. Candidates located in states that mandate COVID-19 booster doses must also comply with those state requirements. Preferred Qualifications:

  • Agile Certifications (PMI, SAFe, Scrum Alliance)
  • PMI Certification
  • Experience with Roadmapping tools such as Aha!
  • Experience with Agile tools such as CA Rally
  • Knowledge of Optum Technology
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with and drive highly effective cross functional teams
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Detail oriented with demonstrated ability to flex level of detail as the situation requires
  • Ability to establish trust, respect, and credibility at all levels
