Vicarious Surgical Inc, has a great in-house opportunity to join our rapidly growing team as Director, Intellectual Property. Reporting to the Chief Legal Officer & General Counsel, this will be a highly visible and valued role as the legal department builds its capabilities to advance Vicarious Surgical products through R&D and into clinical trials, if applicable.
Responsibilities
- Provide IP counseling to in-house clients such as R&D, Program Management, Manufacturing and other functional areas.
- Manage outside IP counsel in conjunction with the Chief Legal Officer.
- Drive the IP strategy and patent prosecution.
- Contribute to legal matters outside of IP, in other areas of the Company with IP implications.
- Advise Leadership team on IP issues of importance to the company.
- Create, develop, and execute IP strategies for the Company.
- Manage intellectual property risks within the Company’s programs and pipeline.
- Assist with developing and streamlining IP policies and processes.
- Keep General Counsel and key stakeholders apprised of IP strategy and critical IP matters.
- Organize and lead regular meetings regarding IP strategy with key stakeholders.
About You
- JD and minimum of 6 years of experience.
- Must be a member of the U.S. Patent Bar.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to maintain a professional demeanor and confidentiality.
- Demonstrating strong knowledge of domestic and international laws, regulations and processes relating to patents.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication (written and verbal) skills; ability to effectively communicate complex IP issues and adapt to audiences with varying levels of legal fluency.
- Ability to balance and prioritize multiple tasks, and to respond effectively to rapidly changing priorities and deadlines.
