BASIC PURPOSE : The primary purpose of the Category Manager - Pre-Pack Beverage/Cooler categories position is to move Love's forward by developing and overseeing their categories from a strategic, financial, and leadership standpoint.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Oversee pre-pack beverages categories and vendors associated (carb energy, CSD, water, etc.)
• Develop, plan and implement multi-year strategic leadership for given categories
• Develop, Track KPI's, and leverage data to track strategic success
• Strategize, manage, support private brand consumable products
• Own the 4 P's of Marketing for given categories (product, place, price, promotion)
• Develop a set review process/JBP Process (Yearly Planning) for the merchandising department
• Grow the business by utilizing all analytical tools to make data driven decisions
• Aggressively grow gross profit dollars, exceeding budgeted goals in given categories
• Creates innovative shopping experiences in store of given categories
• Manage Support Personnel within given categories
• Build collaborative relationships to drive strategy with cross function teams

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Education:
  • HS Diploma or equivalent required
  • Bachelors preferred
• Experience:
  • Experience 5+ Years in Retail Category Management/Buyer role and Personnel Supervision
  • Accounts Payable and experience with technical developments or implementation preferred
  • Experience managing vendor relations, 3rd party suppliers, distributors required
  • Product and Brand Development experience ideal

• Skills:
  • Hard skills: Knowledgable and proficient within Microsoft Office programs (Excel, PowerPoint etc), Data Tools
  • Soft Skills: Stable work history, good oral and verbal communications skills, team player, keen attention to detail, self-motivated and responsible, ability to work in a fast-paced changing environment and strong analytical skills
• Typical Physical Demands:
  • Scheduling flexibility and Travel availability as role/projects require
  • Requires prolonged sitting, some bending and stooping.
  • Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds.
  • Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer keyboard and calculator.
  • Requires normal range of hearing and vision.
