The Subject Matter Expert (SME) - WMS Deployment plays an essential role in facilitating the effective implementation and ongoing improvement of the Blue Yonder (BY) Warehouse Management System throughout the distribution network. Reporting directly to the Site Business Leader, this position focuses on providing comprehensive, hands-on support to ensure that local operators transition seamlessly to the new system. The SME offers prompt operational and technical expertise, addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and maintaining efficient daily operations during both the deployment and stabilization periods. By maintaining a continuous onsite presence and collaborating closely with team members, the SME fosters clear communication, promotes alignment with operational procedures, and maximizes both system performance and user competency.This position is remote with up to 80% travel to various distribution centers throughout the United States. The remaining work time is remote from your home office.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
WMS Implementation Support
Serve as the Operational site lead throughout all phases of WMS deployment, including pre-conversion, go-live, and hypercare.
Perform thorough site assessments to determine readiness, identify potential risks, and resolve operational deficiencies.
Oversee configuration validation, inventory accuracy, and alignment of processes to meet site-specific requirements.
Deliver hands-on training and expert guidance to site teams regarding WMS functionality and operational best practices.
System Expertise & Optimization
Provide expert guidance on WMS functionalities, workflows, and operational procedures.
Analyze direct user feedback and operational data to identify and recommend effective process improvements and system upgrades.
Collaborate proactively with IT and vendor partners to resolve issues efficiently and verify the implementation of required system changes.
Deployment Acceleration & Change Management
Create and implement tailored training materials and resources that address unique site needs.
Lead change management efforts to facilitate efficient system adoption and maintain operational uniformity.
Offer comprehensive on-site and remote support throughout key deployment phases and milestones.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Collaborate with site leadership, implementation teams, and training staff to facilitate consistent deployment practices.
Engage in User Acceptance Testing (UAT), integrating stakeholder feedback to enhance system performance.
Proactively support the development and improvement of standardized deployment playbooks and knowledge management resources.
Execute On-Site Preparation Activities
Perform essential physical readiness tasks for WMS implementation, including labeling, equipment installation, inventory verification, and workstation setup.
Execute standardized processes meticulously, complete assigned tasks with efficiency, and ensure compliance with established deployment standards and guidelines.
Offer immediate on-the-floor assistance, promptly respond to user inquiries, actively monitor system utilization, and escalate critical issues during the hypercare phase.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED
Reports directly to the Site Business Leader
In the absence of the Site Business Leader, this role assumes leadership responsibilities, guiding the team and ensuring continuity of operations.
Works under general direction with significant autonomy in hour-by-hour responsibilities within a team environment
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Remote: This role is fully remote with frequent travel to distribution centers across the network.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
10+ years of experience in warehouse operations or WMS-related roles.
Proven experience in warehouse operations and WMS deployment, preferably with Blue Yonder.
Strong understanding of supply chain processes, inventory management, and system integration.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage change in dynamic environments.
Ability to travel up to 80%
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience in WMS deployment or large-scale system implementations.
Familiarity with warehouse automation technologies (e.g., ASRS, robotics).
Experience in training or change management within a supply chain environment.
PHYSICAL QUALIFICATIONS
Must be able to stand, walk, and move throughout warehouse environments for extended periods.
Ability to lift up to 25 lbs occasionally during site visits or training sessions.
This role will also eligible for an annual incentive bonus of 20%.

Compensation depends on relevant experience and/or education, specific skills, function, geographic location, and other factors as applicable by law (for example: state minimum wage thresholds). The expected base rate for this role is between
