Wolt Market is growing rapidly and we have ambitious goals. We are looking for an Operations Team Lead to lead a group of 5-7 of our Wolt Markets in Hungary and ensure a great quality of end to end groceries operation from fulfillment to delivery. The role will also be critical in developing the optimal store operations in Hungary. You can think of this role as a Wolt-version of a district/area manager in the retail industry.

As a Wolt Market Operations Team Lead you have ownership of supporting a team of 5-7 Store Managers and Store Team Leads and together running a world-class grocery delivery operation. You are leading everything related to how operations take place and are responsible for finding and setting up targets, optimizing store layout, improving picking and packing costs, ensuring a great user experience and providing leadership to a team of store leaders and grocery associates. Four key areas that you’ll always focus on are the safety, quality, customer experience, and productivity of your operation.

In this role, you’ll get a lot of help and support on the way, but are also expected to be an amazing independent manager with an exceptional ability to execute every single day.

Job Description

What you’ll be doing:


  • Responsible for the end to end store operations, from fulfillment to delivery in a group of our stores.

  • Focus on the continuous improvement of our operations. Key focus areas include: safety, quality, customer experience, and productivity.

  • Maintaining an ambitious and motivated team is one of your main responsibilities, while you also hire and train new store leaders.

  • Provide day to day leadership and guidance to store leaders and associates to optimize store operations and guarantee operational excellence - mentor, coach and help their day-to-day work

  • Review the demand forecasts and determine your productivity requirements to meet the overall store/country objectives.

  • Develop optimal store operations in your country together with the Operations Manager and other members of your team. Examples of your areas of responsibility could be workforce management, people compliance, collaboration with inventory and commercial teams, product initiatives and feedback

  • Workforce Management

    • Drive the creation of shift schedules, quality initiatives, process change initiatives, and other change initiatives to support and enable store leaders to meet and exceed business targets.

    • Deliver inputs about bonuses and other reports for payroll and finance and for the store managers

    • Analyze data and present key insights: help WM Operations Team to track team-wide performance metrics to constantly improve the staffing predictions.

    • Work together with Store Managers & Operations Manager to develop strategies and continuously optimize the labor forecasting, shift scheduling and performance management processes

    • Follow-up on productivity targets with Store Managers


  • Recruitment, onboarding and training coordination

Qualifications

  • Operations management experience in retail, distribution, hospitality or platform economy environments.

  • Great analytical skills. Excel skills are a strong recommendation.

  • Experience of leading teams in stores or in a similar field.

  • Full professional proficiency in English.

  • Ability to think and act fast operationally with an eye for detail.

  • A hands-on, proactive, practical, pragmatic attitude with resiliency for changes.
