The Role

The Operations Supervisor will work strategically with the existing and local Bosch Building Technologies leadership team to support the Vancouver Technician group, and the execution of complex low voltage technology projects. You will ensure we deliver the highest level of service for our ever-growing client base while supporting our highly skilled workforce.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Train, mentor and coach Technicians on best practices
  • Manage and monitor Technicians performance as per company standards
  • Assist in maintaining proper field operations equipment
  • Recruit and support new employees through training and career development
  • Ensure all work is performed to company standards and quality installation techniques are practiced
  • Conduct on-site inspections to evaluate and coach team members regarding quality of service and adherence to safety standards
  • Ensure quality control & quality assurance measures are in place and being followed
  • Manage the ‘Daily Manpower Meeting’ and support Project Managers & Service by helping coordinate & schedule manpower
  • Assist Project Managers and Operations with budgeting & forecasting materials, labor and fleet  
  • Work with Project Management team to ensure complete close-out and turnover of jobs to the client and service departments
  • Support field issues and raise with Senior Management if required
  • Work in compliance with the company’s policies and procedures including safety
  • Ensure proper documentation procedures are being followed and acted upon
  • Written record of timesheets are submitted on time and complete through ERP
  • Maintain and ensure highest standard of customer service skills and exemplary compliance with best practices
  • Be accountable for overall safety and the promotion of our safety program
  • Maintain and protect assigned company assets
  • Represent Company in a business-like professional manner in both conduct and appearance, to maximize client satisfaction
  • Available to work outside of, or in addition to, normal businesses hours
  • Perform other duties as required

SUPERVISORY DUTIES: In accordance with applicable Company policies/procedures and Federal/State laws, you will perform the following supervisory responsibilities: planning, assigning, and directing work; coaching and appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. 


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
 
  • 5-7 years’ experience as a Lead / Supervisor overseeing complex low voltage technology projects
  • Post-secondary education in Construction / Project Management or Red Seal / Certificate
  • Previous experience in overseeing the delivery of $200k - $1M+ projects in low voltage scope such as integrated security systems, structured cabling, and or audio-visual projects
  • Experience in field supervision, budget control and schedule management
  • A valid Driver’s License and ability to pass pre-employment screens

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS :
 
  • Experience with enterprise solutions such as CommScope, Belden, Avigilon, Axis, Genetec, Lenel, Milestone, Crestron, Biamp, and Extron 
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
  • Additional industry certifications (AVIXA or BICSI)
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 a plus

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: In general, the following physical demands are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate in English, (ie see, hear, speak and write clearly) in order to communicate with colleagues and/or customers
  • Manual dexterity required for occasional reaching, lifting of light office objects, and operating office equipment
  • Sitting, standing, walking in office environments and construction sites
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and may be required to work at heights over 1.8m (6 feet)

WORKING CONDITIONS: In general, the following conditions of the work environment are representative of those that an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
  • The office is clean, orderly, properly lighted and ventilated.  Noise levels are considered low to moderate
  • Will be required to be on site with customers or contractors, with or without colleagues to manage the expectations and deliverables. Sites range from general office environments to new construction.
  • Driving to customer sites is required
  • Limited overnight travel may be required

PAY: $85,000 - $110,000 (DOE)
