The Operations Supervisor, Nuclear Manufacturing, position is part of a growing Technical Operations team within Cardinal Health’s Nuclear and Precision Health Solutions (NPHS) organization. The desired individual will be responsible for the coordination of routine manufacturing and testing of radiopharmaceutical products, as well as supporting the administration of new product technology transfer programs into and among Cardinal Health radiopharmaceutical manufacturing facilities located in Indianapolis, IN. The incumbent will possess sufficient technical, functional, and administrative knowledge and expertise to effectively sustain facilities and processes for the development, transfer, and routine manufacture of theranostic radiopharmaceutical products. This position will be responsible for maintenance of the manufacturing site and planning of all activities required to provide continuous support to cross-functional teams representing Nuclear Manufacturing in NPHS, with strict adherence to GMP, GDP, and Radiation Safety requirements. Direct experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing and a working knowledge of quality and regulatory compliance requirements (USP/EP/ISO/ICH/CFR) is preferred.

Accountabilities:

  • Develop, coordinate, and administer schedules across the manufacturing site, including all projects and routine manufacturing activities.

  • Ensure functional and compliant facility management. Coordinate maintenance activities such as aseptic area certification, pest control, janitorial services, etc., and manage visitors while on site.

  • Maintain clear and consistent communication with department leadership, staff, program managers, and vendors to enable proper operation of the site.

  • Increase the efficiency of existing processes and procedures to enhance capacity at the site.

  • Ensure all operational activities remain on time and within budget.

  • Track staffing needs, including resource planning and budgeting for current and future programs.

  • Oversee ordering and management of all materials and inventory needs of the facility. Support all material shipping and receiving requirements.

  • Manage procurement, implementation, and maintenance of key equipment/assets.

  • Form strategic partnerships with both internal and external technical and operational colleagues to understand scientific, quality, regulatory, and business needs of products, processes, and equipment.

  • Act as a resource to Technical Operations and Quality personnel to ensure the timely completion of technology transfers and routine supply of manufactured products.

  • Identify gaps and lead projects related to continuous improvement activities at the facility.

  • Create, implement, monitor, and report performance indicators to highlight progress, risks, and mitigation strategies; maintain and report applicable vendor and product metrics during the Quality Management Reviews.

  • Advise on impact assessments related to process and operational changes.

  • Effectively communicate all issues related to safety, quality, and compliance to Quality Assurance and senior leadership.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a physical science or related field or equivalent combination of education/work experience in the pharmaceutical industry, preferred.

  • At least five years of experience within a pharmaceutical manufacturing facility preferred. Experience in a related supervisory function is preferred.

  • Experience with planning and facility management tools highly desired (MS Project, SAP, etc.).

  • Motivation to work effectively and cooperatively with others, and to establish and maintain good working relationships across multiple departments.

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills including the ability to influence behaviors and resolve challenges with poise, tact, and diplomacy.

  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills to all employment levels, senior leadership, and external partners.

  • Flexibility to work periodic off-shift hours in support of routine production needs.

  • Ability to coherently prepare detailed and accurate reports and documentation summarizing operations at the site. 

  • A self-aware, self-motivated, self-confident individual who is comfortable operating with minimal direction and who thrives in a dynamic environment.

  • A proven ability to operate effectively in a rapidly changing environment where analytical skills and agility are equally as important.

Anticipated salary range: $80,900- $115,500
