We’re on the lookout for an experienced Operations Supervisor who thrives in a dynamic environment and is ready to lead frontline teams to deliver exceptional service while contributing to a cleaner, greener Aotearoa.
About the Role
As Operations Supervisor, you'll be the driving force behind the day-to-day operational excellence of our Wanaka team. From coordinating rosters and running toolbox talks to ensuring our vehicles and equipment are safe and ready to go, you’ll lead with energy, purpose, and a commitment to safety and sustainability.
You’ll work closely with drivers and our transfer station teams to ensure our services run smoothly, compliantly, and profitably. No two days will be the same in this hands-on role that blends leadership, problem-solving, and operational oversight.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Supervising staff and allocating daily work priorities.
- Conducting pre-start checks and toolbox meetings.
- Managing costs and driving efficiencies on-site.
- Ensuring HSEQ compliance and safe work practices.
- Supporting equipment maintenance and ordering of parts and PPE.
- Monitoring waste processing performance and reporting on outcomes.
- Acting as a visible leader committed to sustainability and safety.
What You’ll Bring
- Demonstrated leadership experience in transport, logistics, or waste operations with a strong ability to coach and develop the performance of frontline staff.
- Experience in staff scheduling, route planning and resource allocation.
- A mechanical mindset with hands-on knowledge of mobile plant and equipment.
- WTR and Class 1 license preferred, or Class 2 would also be ideal.
- Strong communication and time management skills.
- Confident using Microsoft Office and interpreting compliance systems.
- A passion for sustainability and making a difference.
