Kodiak Robotics, Inc. was founded in 2018 and has become a leader in autonomous ground transportation committed to a safer and more efficient future for all. The company has developed an artificial intelligence (AI) powered technology stack purpose-built for commercial trucking and the public sector. The company delivers freight daily for its customers across the southern United States using its autonomous technology. In 2024, Kodiak became the first known company to publicly announce delivering a driverless semi-truck to a customer. Kodiak is also leveraging its commercial self-driving software to develop, test and deploy autonomous capabilities for the U.S. Department of Defense.

As an Operations Supervisor, you’ll lead on-the-ground operations that ensure Kodiak’s autonomous fleet runs safely, efficiently, and reliably. You will oversee day-to-day execution of missions, manage on-site staff and assets, and serve as the critical link between Operations, Engineering, and our customers. This role is hands-on and highly dynamic requiring leadership, technical awareness, and a relentless focus on uptime, safety, and customer satisfaction.

  • Enforce SOPs, checklists, and safety standards to maintain a consistent, compliant operation.
  • Manage incident response, ensuring rapid, safe, and effective resolution with proper documentation.
  • Participate in staffing management to include; interviewing, extending offers and exit discussions.
  • Support customer engagement and communication—aligning operational plans with customer expectations.
  • Track key shift metrics and maintain detailed logs and end-of-shift reports.
  • Coach, mentor, and hold team members accountable for performance and adherence to operational standards.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Ops Center, Field Techs, and Integration teams to remove blockers and optimize workflows.

What We’re Looking For

Experience:

  • 4+ years in commercial operations, industrial operations, transportation, or logistics leadership (autonomous or fleet experience preferred).
  • Proven ability to manage 24/7 shift-based teams and maintain operational readiness under changing conditions.

Background:

  • Strong understanding of fleet management, dispatch coordination, or field operations.
  • Experience enforcing SOPs, safety protocols, and compliance frameworks.

Industry Knowledge:

  • Familiarity with transportation, autonomous vehicle operations, or logistics environments.
  • Understanding of FMCSA regulations, driver hours-of-service, and field safety standards.

Strong Communicator:

  • Able to clearly and succinctly communicate in high-pressure environments especially over radio and during incident response.
  • Capable of translating complex operational needs into actionable updates for both internal teams and customers.

Leadership Mindset:

  • Leads with calm, confident decision-making under pressure, setting clear expectations and coaching the team toward accountability and performance.
  • Proactively identifies inefficiencies and drives continuous improvement in safety, process, and operational excellence.

In alignment with its business operations, Kodiak adheres to all relevant statutes, regulations, and administrative prerequisites. Accordingly, roles that carry more sensitive requirements may be limited to candidates that can satisfy additional scrutiny and eligibility for such positions may hinge on verification of a candidate’s residence, U.S. person status, and/or citizenship status. Should the position require, and Kodiak determines that a candidate’s residence, U.S. person status, and/or citizenship status necessitate an export license, bar the candidate from the position, or otherwise fall under national security-related restrictions, Kodiak will consider the candidate for alternative positions unaffected by such restrictions, under terms and conditions set forth at Kodiak’s sole discretion, or, as an alternative, opt not to proceed with the candidate’s application.
