Position Summary
The Operations Supervisor – Hard Drive oversees the daily operations of the hard drive processing department, ensuring production goals, quality standards, safety requirements, and customer expectations are consistently met. This role leads Operators and Leads, manages staffing and workflow priorities, optimizes equipment utilization, and drives operational efficiency. Working closely with Operations, Engineering, and Production Control, the Operations Supervisor supports the continuous improvement of hard drive testing and data erasure processes while maintaining compliance with ISO, OSHA, and R2 standards. The position is also responsible for employee development, performance management, inventory accuracy, and fostering a safe, collaborative, and high-performing work environment. This will be an onsite position at our OH warehouse.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (will include but not be limited to):
- Supervise the daily operations of the hard drive processing department to ensure production, quality, safety, and customer requirements are consistently met.
- Lead, coach, and develop Operators and Leads by setting expectations, monitoring performance, providing feedback, and recognizing accomplishments.
- Plan daily staffing, equipment, and workflow priorities to maximize productivity while meeting production schedules.
- Partner with Operations, Engineering, and Production Control to improve hard drive testing, data erasure, and processing workflows while resolving production issues and bottlenecks.
- Support the implementation, optimization, and maintenance of hard drive testing and wiping equipment and software within the production environment.
- Monitor operational performance, identify trends, conduct root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions to improve efficiency, quality, and throughput.
- Maintain inventory accuracy by overseeing inventory control processes, investigating discrepancies, and implementing corrective actions.
- Ensure products are received, processed, stored, and shipped in accordance with company procedures and customer requirements.
- Develop, document, and maintain standard operating procedures, workflow processes, and rework guidelines.
- Coordinate employee training, monitor training progress, and ensure team members are properly trained in operational procedures, safety requirements, quality standards, and equipment.
- Conduct employee performance evaluations, provide coaching and development, recognize employee achievements, and partner with Human Resources on corrective action and performance management.
- Monitor employee attendance and staffing levels to ensure adequate production coverage.
- Ensure compliance with all company policies and applicable ISO, OSHA, R2, and other regulatory standards.
- Serve as a technical and operational resource by responding to product and process questions and coordinating with cross-functional teams to resolve issues.
- Provide hands-on operational support as needed to ensure production goals and customer commitments are achieved.

Qualifications and Work Experience

- Minimum 4 years of supervisory or leadership experience in a warehouse, manufacturing, production, or operations environment.
- Minimum 2 years of experience with hard drive testing, data erasure, processing, or related technology operations preferred.
- Experience partnering with Engineering teams to implement or support production equipment, testing systems, or software solutions.
- Strong leadership, coaching, employee development, and team-building skills.
- Excellent planning, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel.
- Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
Abilities Required
- Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position, including standing, walking, bending, and climbing stairs for extended periods.
- Must be capable of lifting up to 55 pounds.
- Must be capable of operating, or being trained to operate, a forklift and other warehouse equipment.
- Must be able to work in an environment with dust exposure and fluctuating temperatures.
- Must be able to wear required ESD clothing and accessories when applicable.
