The Operations Supervisor is responsible for ensuring smooth and efficient scheduling functions for the company through maintaining inbound/outbound processes. They will be accountable to manage a communication network to relay work orders, messages, and information to or from work crews, supervisors, and linehaul carriers using company approved methods. Other responsibilities also consist of assigning loads to carriers and providing accurate reports of freight being offloaded and loaded. The role includes providing support in a fast paced, high-volume office/warehouse environment and will assist in completing operational and data entry tasks as necessary in a timely and accurate manner.

Job Duties:

• Supervises the overall operations on the cross dock and offload/load processes, procedures and people.

• Daily dock meetings/huddles to review safety and compliance, daily goals on volume, issues & concerns, plans for the next day, cleanliness/organization and meeting minutes given to Senior Operations Manager daily.

• Maintain and execute the daily work plan to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and timeliness of inbound/outbound load execution.

 • Maintain scheduling, discipline and performance management for the employees in the unloading/loading process.

 • Create and change dock workers schedules as dictated by demand and performance.

• Continually monitor workloads throughout the department and actively pursue additional resource when justified.

 • Monitor personnel and/or equipment locations and utilization in order to coordinate service and schedules

• Create initiatives and procedures that maximize organizational ability to service clients with the most efficiency possible.

• Breakdown, verify and process worker’s activity logs.

• Maintain and update the departmental communication log.

• Generally, maintain an open and effective dialogue with all workers to insure fairness and clarity of understanding.

• Create and maintain logs necessary to perform quick checks and assessments to ensure the highest quality.

• Respond to complaints with thoroughness and accuracy.

• Adhere to corporate and departmental policies and procedures

• Completion of all required training through Carriers Edge (Manager/Supervisor Training Program)
