RII is seeking an operations SME with a strong background in staff functions and military operations. This role will involve travel to military installations to work directly with the Warfighter in designing and developing custom software implementations in support of the operations process. Attention to detail and strong analytical skills are crucial for quality assurance. You will work directly with the Warfighter to understand their problems and needs, work with developers and engineers to create use cases and designs, and solicit constant feedback to ensure quality software and feature development. Help manage large volumes of critical, real-time information about issues from global to local. Get s#it done.

 

This position requires an active US Secret security clearance. A Top Secret security clearance is preferred.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

  • Provide subject matter expertise on Command Post Computing Environment (CPCE) at tactical Command Posts BCT through Corps
  • Understand key user roles, functions, processes and organizational structures to include staff functions and the Military Decision making process
  • Work with user organizations and operational units to develop, test, and formalize Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Concept of Operations (CONOPS) and Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTPs) that enable the user to make effective use of the system prototype solution
  • Capture user stories, customer use cases, and draft System Engineering artifacts representative of more complex customer/user environments and scenarios
  • Identify new system functionality, validate current operational use cases and identify new ones
  • Identify unit specific data sources and support the integration of data sources and systems
  • Assess operational challenges faced by users, document findings and provide feedback, and update the system and supporting TTPs accordingly
  • Improve Unit DevOps execution processes and operational support activities
  • Provide the user training support and material development
  • Participate in working groups, forums, and analytical activities to support larger business line or program objectives
  • Create and deliver clear and compelling high-quality briefings, documents, conceptual and analytical reports to customers, and larger project teams
  • Effectively translate and communicate relevant complex operational/domain information within team and cross-functionally (eg. engineering teams)
  • Provide support for operational exercises that reinforce customer training and proficiency in current or developing TTPs

 

WHAT YOU HAVE DONE

  • Used strong communication skills to effectively interface with military officials, managers, and subordinates
  • Knowledge of Army Field Manual (FM 6-0) Commander and Staff Organization and Operations
  • Experience with Army Tactical C4I systems
  • Served in a technical position at a DIV / BCT G6 / S6 / NetOps
  • Must have strong planning, problem solving, analytical, organizational, and leadership skills
  • Experience gathering, analyzing, and presenting facts using the appropriate data collection and dissemination tools/techniques
  • Experience and capability to perform tasks with Microsoft productivity software and applications
  • Possesses a thorough knowledge of applicable complex operational mission areas and program requirements
  • Must be able to work independently with limited oversight and function effectively as part of a geographically separated team
  • Must have experience developing Tactics, Techniques and Procedures, Standard Operating Procedures or other process documents

 

EVEN BETTER

  • Experience with all Command Post capabilities to include WIN-T, CPCE, and DCGS-A as well as other War Fighting Function capabilities
  • Experience with the BCCS / TSI / TDI Knowledge of Army DIV / BCT Operations Familiar with systems engineering processes for developing/documenting requirements
  • Experience working at an Army tactical unit in the G6/S6, G2/S2, G3/S3
  • Strong understanding of C4I, Information Operations or related areas
