This role is part of Blue Origin corporate functions, providing centralized support across Blue Origin business unit teams, functions, and locations.

This individual contributor role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Operations, Test Operations, Advanced Manufacturing, Global Supply Chain, and Safety, Quality, Mission Assurance. This group is responsible for all manufacturing aspects of every Blue Origin product. 

We are seeking a Program Manager – Business Administration I (or II) to join our Strategy, Finance and Business Operations (SFB) team within Blue Operations. You will be at the intersection of Operations, Strategy, Finance and Business Operations within Blue Origin’s largest, rapidly growing Operations group. As a “systems engineer of business”, you will rely on your technical, operational, or business expertise to help Blue Origin Operations scale manufacturing to industry-high levels. Become a critical cog in the machine that builds rocket engines, rockets, spacecraft to build the road to Space! 

This role will lead large-scale enterprise programs and projects aimed at improving operational efficiency and aligning with organizational strategic goals. In this role, you will partner with Operations Vice Presidents to develop and manage initiatives that drive operations strategy; streamline business processes; optimize resource allocation; and enhance overall effectiveness across Operations.  

This role requires multi-disciplinary expertise in managing complex, cross-functional programs that are impactful, measurable, and tightly aligned with priorities. You will work closely with leadership and stakeholders across other organizations or departments to drive operational improvements, manage budgets, and ensure successful Operations execution.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Understand and help manage the complex interplay between strategy, technology, manufacturing, finance and business operations. 
  • Understand and help manage the rhythm of business and management operating system of Blue Operations. 
  • Assist with the development and management of large-scale, cross-functional enterprise programs. 
  • Define program objectives, deliverables, risks, and success metrics to ensure alignment with operations strategy and company goals. 
  • Identify potential risks to program success, including resource gaps, timeline delays, or budgetary constraints. 
  • Identify and manage complex dependencies within the program as well as across other projects in the organization. 
  • Manage the program execution, risks, timelines, and resources to ensure successful outcomes. 
  • Develop contingency plans and mitigation strategies to ensure successful program outcomes. 
  • Drive continuous improvement by identifying inefficiencies in current processes and implementing innovative solutions. 
  • Act as key liaison between operational teams and Operations leadership to ensure operations objectives are met. 
  • Build and maintain strong professional relationships with stakeholders, ensuring alignment on program objectives and priorities. 
  • Facilitate regular updates, and reviews to communicate progress.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Intellectual curiosity is a must! 
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business management, Operations management, or related field. 
  • Interest in engineering, manufacturing, operations, finance, business operations. 
  • Proficiency in project and program management tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, Jira Confluence). 
  • Advanced skills in presentation and visualization tools.  
  • Ability to understand and navigate complex business processes. 
  • Skilled at gathering information, managing resources, and driving results. 
  • Ability to connect operational details to broader business goals. 
  • High attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in all aspects of program and project management. 
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills capable of conveying complex risks, issues, or challenges of programs to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. 
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work both independently and collaboratively. 
  • Proactive problem-solving approach with the ability to anticipate challenges and implement solutions.

    Compensation Range for:

    WA applicants is $124,476.00 - $174,265.35

    • Required for Certain Job Profiles: Drivers who operate Commercial Motor Vehicles with a Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW), Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) or combination of power unit and trailer that meets or exceeds 10,001 lbs. and/or transports placardable amounts of hazardous materials by ground in any vehicle on a public road while in commerce, may be subject to additional Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations including: Driver Qualification Files, Medical Certification (obtained before onboarding), Road Test, Hours of Service, Drug and Alcohol Testing (CDL drivers only), vehicle inspection requirements, CDL requirements (if applicable) and hazardous materials transportation/shipping training.

    • Required for certain Job Profiles: Ability to obtain and maintain Merchant Mariner Credential, which includes pre-employment and random drug testing as well as DOT physical
