Job Description:
Operations Specialist
Huntsman is seeking an Operations Specialist supporting the Performance Products Division located in Port Neches, Texas. This position will report to the Operations Specialist Manager.
In summary, as the Operations Specialist, you will:
- Use information delivered daily by email to send production and quality reports to a distribution list.
- Use information delivered by email each month to report on efficiency of shipping Huntsman products in a monthly spreadsheet.
- Attend Daily meetings with IVL to discuss production, quality, and maintenance issues.
- Work closely with IVL to troubleshoot, plan future maintenance, plan Capital spend.
- Attend all meetings with IVL for PHA’s, Hazop’s, Reliability, Environmental, safety, etc.
- Attend various weekly, monthly and quarterly meetings with Huntsman management.
- Report to Huntsman management on quality, production, and maintenance issues in a monthly report.
- E7 specialist will work with Huntsman management to obtain information from IVL when requested.
Other general responsibilities:
- Follows instructions and performs other duties as may be assigned by supervisor.
- Assists other employees in accomplishment of Huntsman company goals.
- Participates in and completes company-required training programs.
- Participate in Environmental, Health, & Safety initiatives as set forth by the company.
Qualifications
You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.
The candidate must have an unrestricted right to work for Huntsman in the United States.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED and 5 years minimum operation experience in a chemical plant.
Skills and knowledge
- Experience of and participation in and leading U.S. regulatory Process Safety audits.
- Must have a level of proficiency with Internet, Email, and Microsoft programs.
- Must have the ability to coordinate multiple activities required for this function. Requires the ability to recognize unusual situations and take corrective action.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs of bagged/drummed materials several times a week.
- Must be able to climb stairs and ladders and walk over uneven surfaces.
- Must know how to properly use personal protective safety equipment.
- Good relational skills required: this position will interface with Engineers, Chemists, and The Woodlands personnel in various departments.
- Must have good organizational skills for maintaining database of equipment, spare parts, unit documentation.
