Operations Specialist Developer

Purpose of the role

To design, develop and improve software, utilising various engineering methodologies, that provides business, platform, and technology capabilities for our customers and colleagues. 

Accountabilities

• Development and delivery of high-quality software solutions by using industry aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools. Ensuring that code is scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance.
• Cross-functional collaboration with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define software requirements, devise solution strategies, and ensure seamless integration and alignment with business objectives.
• Collaboration with peers, participate in code reviews, and promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing.
• Stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations and actively contribute to the organization’s technology communities to foster a culture of technical excellence and growth.
• Adherence to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities, protect sensitive data, and ensure secure software solutions.
• Implementation of effective unit testing practices to ensure proper code design, readability, and reliability.

As an Operations Specialist Developer you would be focused on supporting our complex daily processes and interacting with stakeholders within RTB (Run the bank), who use our software to support Market Risk daily processes. Your role will involve constant communication with stakeholders, as well as building and solving urgent problems faced by the team. It will also entail supporting releases and deployments, alongside RTB and BTB. This role also includes developer operation aspects, including scripting and CI/CD.

To be successful as an Operations Specialist Developer, you should have experience with:

• Working as / with RTB operations within financial application team
• Regular interactions with RTB will be a key part of your role, including understanding and adapting to their needs
• Service First (change requests, incident management, CIs, etc.)
• Working with Nolio for deployments
• Knowledge and experience of scripting for CI/CD solutions, developing and preparing automation
• Problem management and support (especially in service first / service now)
• Working within Market Risk IT space
   

Some other highly valued skills may include:

• UI/UX experience for RTB / user conversations (JavaScript, Angular, Figma)
• Database knowledge – especially document database such as MongoDB
• Experience working with .NET stack
