About the role:

In this entry-level role, the Operations Resource Planner will be responsible for efficiently managing and coordinating the allocation of resources for the Hardware Support, Field Services Team.  This coordination includes managing software tools, equipment, and spare inventory used at customer sites that are serviced and maintained by Ocado. This role ensures that all Field Technicians are utilized optimally, schedules are maintained, and support delivery timelines are met. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, the ability to balance competing demands of stakeholders, and a keen attention to detail.


What you’ll do:

  •  Assign resources to support and maintain robotics hardware based on availability, skills, and maintenance requirements.
  •  Monitor and adjust resource assignments to ensure optimal utilization and prevent conflicts.
  • Develop and maintain detailed schedules for break and fix support, preventive maintenance tasks, and resource availability.
  •  Update schedules in real-time to reflect changes and communicate these updates to relevant stakeholders.
  •  Collaborate with third-party contractors, team leaders, and other stakeholders to understand resource needs and  service delivery timelines
  • Facilitate effective communication between departments to ensure smooth coordination and resource sharing.
  • Conduct meetings with stakeholders to disclose project status, plan schedules, gain customer feedback, and build consensus between Ocado resources and customer requirements. 
  •  Generate and analyze reports on resource utilization, service delivery, and scheduling efficiency.
  • Identify trends, potential issues, and areas for improvement based on data insights.
  • Develop and implement best practices for resource scheduling and management.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve scheduling processes and tools to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Proactively identify and resolve resource conflicts and scheduling issues.
  • Work with managers and third-party contractors to develop contingency plans and alternative solutions.
  • Maintain and update scheduling software and tools.
  • Ensure data accuracy and integrity within the scheduling system.

Who you are:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field, or relevant professional experience.
  • Proven experience in resource scheduling, coordination, or a similar role.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proficiency in scheduling software and tools and analysis tools
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to generate and interpret reports.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • Knowledge of resource management best practices and methodologies.
