Purpose and Impact:
This position is contingent upon award of contract, business needs and funding availability. We are seeking a highly analytical and mission-focused Operations Research / Systems Analyst (ORSA) to support U.S. Government intelligence, operational, and strategic decision-making efforts. The ORSA applies quantitative and qualitative analytical methods to assess complex problems, evaluate alternatives, and support planning and operational analysis across national security missions.
This position requires strong technical rigor, experience operating in DoD or Intelligence Community (IC) environments, and the ability to translate complex data and models into clear, actionable insights for senior leaders and operational stakeholders.
As an Operations Research / Systems Analyst, you will directly support high-impact analytical efforts that inform strategic, operational, and tactical decisions across national security missions. Your work will help leaders understand complex problems, evaluate risks and opportunities, and select solutions that enhance mission effectiveness and protect U.S. national interests.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Apply operations research and systems analysis methodologies to support intelligence and operational missions
- Conduct quantitative and qualitative analysis, modeling, simulation, and assessment of complex systems
- Evaluate courses of action, capabilities, risks, and trade-offs to inform leadership decisions
- Support mission planning, campaign assessment, and operational analysis efforts
- Analyze large data sets to identify trends, patterns, and performance indicators
- Develop analytical products, reports, and briefings for government customers
- Collaborate with analysts, planners, engineers, and subject matter experts across disciplines
- Support study design, data collection strategies, and analytic frameworks
- Ensure analytic rigor, transparency, and defensibility of methodologies and conclusions
- Safeguard classified information and comply with all DoD, Air Force, and IC policies and procedures
Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands: The position supports sensitive operations and demands strict adherence to IC analytic standards, information security requirements, and professional ethics.
Minimum Requirements (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):
- Proficiency in operations research, systems analysis, or applied analytics methods
- Experience with modeling, simulation, statistical analysis, or optimization techniques
- Ability to synthesize complex data into clear, defensible conclusions
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including executive-level briefings
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in classified environments
- Proficiency with standard analytic and productivity tools
Additional Requirements:
- Willingness to comply with all DoD, Air Force, and IC security and conduct standards
- Ability to complete and maintain required training throughout contract performance
- Availability to support CONUS and OCONUS missions as required
- Responsible for maintaining qualifications and training unless Government-directed
Security Clearance Required:
- TS/SCI eligibility with a favorable Tier 5 (T5) investigation
Minimum Education:
- Master’s degree (Operations Research, Systems Eng., Math, or related field) or Bachelor’s + 15 years’ experience
Minimum Years of Experience:
- 10 years of ORSA or advanced analytical experience; At least part of the required experience must be within the past two (2) years.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience supporting DoD, Air Force, Combatant Command, or IC organizations
- Experience with campaign analysis, capability assessments, or force planning
- Familiarity with intelligence or operational planning processes
- Experience briefing senior military or civilian leaders
- Advanced degree in Operations Research, Systems Engineering, Mathematics, Economics, or a related field
