About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated Individual to serve as the primary quality contact for daily operations within the plant. This role is critical in ensuring customer requirements, compliance with industry standards, and continuous improvement in manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities

Daily Quality Operations

  • · Guide team members for functionality of the CMM lab
  • · Maintain Shoplogix functionality for Quality Checks to meet customer requirements
  • · First line of defense for issues on the floor, working with Operations to determine best steps forward
  • Maintain metrology on the Operations floor, working with Engineering and Maintenance
  • Work with floor operators to resolve issues and create new opportunities for continuous improvement

Customer Quality Management

  • Lead all internal corrective actions and implementation for the plant floor.
  • Lead all SPC reviews for customer requirements
  • Updates to all PFMEA, PPAP, and control plans
  • Work closely with the other Quality Engineers for customer responses

Internal Collaboration & Supplier Development

  • Work closely with internal engineering and manufacturing teams to establish inspection and testing requirements.
  • Partner with subcontractors to define inspection/testing requirements, product certification, and process capability.
  • Support subcontractor development initiatives to strengthen supply chain quality.

Data Analysis & Reporting

  • Maintain SPC data from shop floor.
  • Work with Engineering to update Shoplogix programs based on specification updates.
  • Prepare and present quality performance reports (CP/CPK, PPM, Cost of Quality, IATF, Ford Q1, GM BIQS).
  • Detect quality-related concerns through inspection data/charts and recommend corrective/preventive actions.

Compliance & Audits

  • Schedule and track internal audits (IATF, BIQS, ISO 14001:2015), corrective actions, and training.
  • Support testing/certification of incoming materials and parts prior to use in plant processes.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and customer requirements.

Leadership & Training

  • Provide training to inspection and testing personnel to strengthen quality culture.
  • Promote interplant relations and support achievement of plant goals and objectives.
  • Implement statistical and advanced problem-solving techniques to prevent and correct quality issues.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of quality experience, preferably in automotive manufacturing.
  • Associate’s degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or Metrology, or equivalent technical experience, preferred but not required.
  • Strong problem-solving, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency with PC-based tools and statistical software.
  • Self-directed, detail-oriented, reliable, and proactive with strong initiative.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to collaborate effectively with leaders, peers, and customers.

Skills Required

  • Minimum 5 years of quality experience
  • Experience in automotive manufacturing
  • Associate's degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or Metrology, or equivalent technical experience
  • Proficiency with PC-based tools and statistical software
  • Experience with CMM/metrology and maintaining a CMM lab
  • Experience with Shoplogix (maintaining/updating Shoplogix programs)
  • Hands-on SPC experience and ability to lead SPC reviews
  • Experience updating PFMEA, PPAP, and control plans
  • Ability to prepare and present quality performance reports (CP/CPK, PPM, Cost of Quality, IATF, Ford Q1, GM BIQS)
  • Strong problem-solving, organizational, analytical, written and verbal communication skills
