We’re a team of friends bound together by a mission to preserve our planet for future generations through innovative energy solutions and modern infrastructure. Intersect develops, constructs, and operates the most ambitious power and data center infrastructure in the country by co-locating industrial demand with dedicated gas and renewable power generation.
Intersect was acquired by Google in March 2026 and operates as an independent subsidiary. We are developing and constructing multiple gigawatts of energy and data center projects in the U.S., enabling more data center and generation capacity to come online faster. We’re on an aggressive growth trajectory and looking for people hungry to tackle the largest energy challenges on the planet.
Location & Team Gatherings
Intersect has been a fully flexible workplace since its founding in 2016. We’ve been very intentional about the way we do things. We are not work-from-home, hybrid, or in-office - we are any and all of those options! Deepening social connections and offering shared experiences is a cornerstone of the way we work. We connect as a team at our Team Week experiences four times a year and at our recently established Hub locations - SF Bay Area, NYC Metro Area, NY; Denver, CO; Austin, TX; Calgary, AB; and Toronto, ON.
We are currently looking for candidates located within 60 miles of any of the listed hubs to foster more in-person connections while maintaining our flexible remote culture.
About This Role
As part of Intersect’s Operations team, you’ll lead the planning and coordination that enables high-impact operational projects across our fleet of solar, wind, battery energy storage, and gas assets. This role is focused on preparing complex, non-routine campaigns for successful execution by developing project plans, coordinating technical stakeholders, managing warranty-related activities, and ensuring operational readiness before work begins in the field.
Reporting to the Head of Operations, you'll serve as the organizational engine behind major capital improvements, fleet-wide campaigns, and warranty remediation projects. You'll partner closely with Site Operations, Asset Management, Engineering, the Integrated Operations Center (IOC), and external OEMs to deliver safe, efficient, and commercially successful outcomes.
Team Overview
This team plays a critical role in advancing Intersect’s mission to accelerate the clean energy transition by ensuring our operating fleet performs safely, reliably, and efficiently. The Operations team partners across Engineering, Asset Management, Construction, and Field Operations to deliver operational excellence throughout the lifecycle of our assets. Joining this team means helping solve complex technical challenges while contributing to projects that directly improve fleet performance, reliability, and long-term value.
What You'll Do
Drive Project Readiness
Lead upstream planning activities for major operational campaigns, systemic capital improvements, and specialized fleet-wide projects.
Develop detailed scopes of work, constructability reviews, engineering coordination, and project execution plans before field mobilization.
Build and maintain critical-path project schedules using tools such as Primavera P6, MS Project, or Smartsheet.
Deliver complete execution packages—including schedules, material plans, and safety requirements—to Site and Campus Managers for field execution.
Lead Warranty Operations & Commercial Recovery
Serve as the operational lead for complex OEM warranty campaigns across the operating fleet.
Coordinate technical documentation required to support warranty claims and commercial recovery efforts alongside the Asset Management team.
Review OEM repair methodologies, schedules, and execution plans to ensure they meet Intersect's technical and safety standards.
Establish processes to accurately track labor, equipment usage, downtime, and other costs that support warranty reimbursement and commercial claims.
Coordinate Outage Planning
Develop strategic pre-work plans for multi-unit outages and large operational campaigns.
Partner with the Integrated Operations Center (IOC) to coordinate curtailment windows, system isolations, and grid-related planning activities.
Collaborate with Central Planning to ensure specialized tools, materials, safety equipment, and long-lead components are available before project mobilization.
Maintain Project Controls & Data Integrity
Collect and organize as-built documentation, quality records, and project closeout packages following campaign completion.
Partner with CMMS Administration to ensure equipment updates, warranty records, and asset changes are accurately documented within Sitetracker.
Maintain accurate project controls, schedules, documentation, and reporting throughout the project lifecycle.
Collaborate Across Technical Teams
Build strong partnerships across Operations, Engineering, Asset Management, Planning, and external contractors.
Support consistent execution standards across multiple technologies and operating sites.
Identify planning risks early and develop mitigation strategies that improve project execution and operational outcomes.
What You'll Bring
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
3–6+ years of experience in technical project management, project controls, contract execution, or operations planning within utility-scale energy, power generation, or heavy industrial environments.
Experience developing critical-path schedules using Primavera P6, MS Project, Smartsheet, or similar scheduling software.
