Operations Project Manager, AI Safety Services

Why this role exists
Our AI Safety Services team delivers everything from massive data‐labeling programs to model‐testing pipelines—often under aggressive deadlines. We need a hands-on Operations Project Manager who pairs classic project‐management rigor with enough technical fluency to keep engineers, annotators, and data scientists rowing in sync. Your goal: ship projects fast, at scale, and with quality clients can measure.

The impact you’ll make
● Deliver flawlessly: Hit scope, schedule, and budget targets across multiple concurrent AI‐data projects.
● Boost efficiency: Automate reporting, surface KPIs, and drive process improvements that cut cycle times and cost.
● Keep clients happy: Maintain crystal‐clear communication and documentation so stakeholders always know status, risks, and next steps.

What you’ll do
● Own end‐to‐end execution—from scoping and task‐template creation through annotation, model‐pipeline setup, QA, and deployment hand‐off.
● Coordinate cross‐functional teams: engineers, annotators, data scientists, GTM leads, and client stakeholders.
● Build & automate workflows: create Asana projects; script Python / SQL jobs for metrics and QC checks.
● Track & report KPIs: timelines, throughput, quality, margin, and resource utilisation—dashboards in Looker, Power BI, or Streamlit.
● Drive continuous improvement: identify bottlenecks, run retros, and implement SOP updates that scale to the next project.
● Maintain artefacts: SOWs, RACI charts, risk registers, and knowledge‐base pages that keep the team aligned.

Experiences you’ll bring

● 3–5 years managing technical projects or operations in data, AI, or software domains.
● Hands-on experience with Agile/Scrum or Kanban workflows (JIRA, Asana, Linear, or similar).
● Proven record delivering projects with distributed or remote‐first teams.
● Comfort translating between technical and non‐technical stakeholders.

Core skills you'll need
● Project‐management excellence: scoping, scheduling, risk management, and
stakeholder comms.
● Lightweight scripting: Python or similar for automation, data manipulation, and report generation.
● SQL & dashboards: query data warehouses and build KPI views.
● Tool savvy: familiarity with annotation platforms (Label Studio, Labelbox) and cloud services (AWS/GCP/Azure).
● Process mindset: design SOPs/playbooks and iterate quickly based on feedback.

Nice to have: MLOps exposure, experience with LLM‐driven automation, or knowledge of security / compliance requirements in data operations.
