We are seeking an Operations Productivity Engineer – US HYCO Sub-Region for our Americas Productivity team located at our Houston, TX offices
The Operations Productivity Engineer for the US HYCO Sub-Region has responsibility to drive business alignment for Operations process improvements working cross functionally with US HYCO Sub-region Regional Operation Line Managers, Local site supervisors, Engineering & Operations teams, business teams, and central Engineering support (PRO, PPE, Advance Control) functions.
The primary responsibilities are the identification, development, and execution of operations improvement productivity projects. The Operations Productivity Engineer is accountable for interfacing through-out each of Americas sub-regions to focus on initiatives that aims at optimizing existing processes that result in increased revenue/reduced cost for AP product offerings. This is accomplished through cross functional and cross regional teams.
The Operations Productivity Engineer is actively responsible for the project management, prioritization, and implementation accountability of cost saving improvement initiatives within their functional productivity assignment.
This role must interface and influence the following functions: US HYCO Sub-region Site Management, Site Engineering & Operations, Line Management, Asset Managers, Business Managers, and the US HYCO Sub-Region General Manager.
Effectiveness in the position is dependent on strong interpersonal and analytical skills and a thorough understanding of the safety standards, operational excellence, tonnage/pipeline business, design and operation, impact of utility optimization within manufacturing, and understanding/leveraging customer contracts.
Key responsibilities:
Identify and coordinate improvement projects in the Operations/Engineering areas by managing actions and execution of the project pipeline for local site Operations teams throughout the Americas.
Coordinate and align improvement project prioritization between business, productivity, and PPE & Advance control teams.
Interface with Sub-regional Business Managers, and Operations Line Managers, Central Engineering Team Managers, and Local Site Supervisor/Operations teams on analysis observations, project statuses, and productivity led initiatives within IG Americas.
Lead productivity outreach efforts (assessments, brainstorming sessions, action teams) to identify new opportunities and gap closing efforts and lead efforts that need development & financial estimate alignment.
Lead the execution of projects and provide research/analytical support for Operations/Engineering analysis.
Develop Data Visualization System for critical Operations/Engineering data that should be monitored for productivity benefit.
Research/Explore innovative strategies for the next generation of operations and supply chain productivity opportunities within the overarching supply chain model.
Minimum Hiring Requirements:
Bachelor's in Mechanical, Chemical Engineering, or other related engineering disciplines, or equivalent experience. M.E. or MBA beneficial and preferred.
Experience in statistical process control desired.
Strong technical knowledge of data processing, data visualization and analysis.
Familiarity with Lean Six Sigma or Agile Scrum.
Familiarity with North America HYCO businesses, or similar business with similar complexities/structure.
Strong interpersonal skills with strong influential leadership.
Strong analytical and decision-making skills
Strong prioritization and project management skills.
Travel 10%-20%.
Ability to clearly define and communicate results.
5 plus years in engineering, operations and manufacturing, or engineering business improvement experience.
