Are you a hands-on leader ready to drive operational excellence in Hastings? We’re looking for an experienced Operations Manager to take charge of our Hastings branch, leading daily operations and ensuring safe, efficient workflows.

Days and hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 4:30pm (40hr week).
About the role - Mō te tūranga
This is a practical leadership role where you’ll balance people management with being out on the floor when needed. You’ll oversee all inbound and outbound freight, drive team performance, and deliver strong results. You’ll focus on safety, productivity, customer service, and accurate reporting while ensuring resources are used effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage branch operations to ensure efficient freight flow for our customers.
- Day to day and strategic planning of people and fleet
- Lead, motivate and manage a team.
- Provide accurate and timely operational reporting.
- Ensure compliance with health & safety policies and legislation.
- Meet and maintain financial/operational KPIs.
What will you bring? – Ōu Pūkenga?
You’re a proven people leader with a strong background in freight, transport, or warehousing. You thrive in fast-paced environments, make confident decisions, and aren’t afraid to roll up your sleeves when required. A forklift licence is essential and holding a Class 4 or 5 truck licence will give you an advantage.
Additionally, you will have:
- 5+ years in freight operations, including 2+ years in management
- F and D&G endorsements – preferrable but not essential
- A positive and proactive approach to problem solving.
- A strong Health & Safety focus
- Confident with reporting, IT systems, and data management
