The Role

Braiins is a pioneer in the Bitcoin mining industry and the company behind Slush Pool, the world’s first Bitcoin mining pool. Since 2013, we have been advancing the state of Bitcoin mining through our open-source software (Braiins OS), firmware solutions (Braiins OS+), and cutting-edge research. We are passionate about Bitcoin, open-source technologies, and empowering individuals and businesses to participate in securing the Bitcoin network.

Role Overview

As an Operations Manager at Braiins Systems s.r.o., you will oversee the day-to-day operational activities that ensure our mining pools, firmware solutions, eshop, and internal teams function smoothly and efficiently. You will work closely with cross-functional teams—engineering, product, finance, legal, and more—to optimize processes, enhance organizational performance, and support our continued growth in the Bitcoin mining ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Operational Coordination & Support

    • Work closely with the COO on day-to-day operational tasks, acting as a key point of contact to streamline communication and execution across various teams.

    • Handle urgent issues, escalate problems when needed, and provide timely updates to the COO on operational status.

  2. Project & Task Management

    • Coordinate project timelines, action items, and deliverables with cross-functional teams (engineering, support, finance) to ensure timely completion of tasks.

    • Maintain and update project management tools (e.g., Jira), ensuring consistent progress tracking and clear documentation.

  3. Process & Workflow Execution

    • Implement and refine standard operating procedures (SOPs) under the guidance of the COO, ensuring all departments follow established best practices.

    • Monitor operational metrics (e.g., performance KPIs, resource utilization) and work with relevant teams to resolve workflow bottlenecks.

  4. Cross-Functional Liaison

    • Facilitate smooth collaboration between departments by scheduling and coordinating meetings, organizing agendas, and following up on action items.

    • Gather feedback from different teams and synthesize insights for the COO, ensuring quick response to internal challenges or improvements.

  5. Vendor & Budget Coordination

    • Assist the COO with vendor management, from contract negotiations to performance reviews and billing.

    • Support budgeting activities by collecting expense data, tracking operational costs, and identifying areas for cost optimization.

  6. Compliance & Documentation

    • Help maintain compliance with relevant regulations and company policies by updating documentation and ensuring teams are trained on procedures.

    • Collaborate with legal and finance to keep operational contracts, NDAs, and other administrative documents up to date.

  7. Continuous Improvement Initiatives

    • Identify and propose solutions for operational inefficiencies, suggesting enhancements to processes, tools, or resource allocation.

    • Launch small-scale pilot projects or process experiments to test improvements before wider rollout.

  8. Operational Reporting & Analysis

    • Prepare regular operations reports—weekly, monthly, and quarterly—highlighting key metrics and progress for the COO and senior leadership.

    • Conduct root cause analyses on operational issues and propose corrective measures.

  9. Ad Hoc Tasks & Special Projects

    • Support the COO with various ad hoc requests, from drafting presentations to coordinating executive-level tasks.

    • Step in as needed to cover operational gaps or lead short-term projects that require immediate execution.

Qualifications
  • Education & Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field (Master’s degree or MBA is a plus).

    • 5+ years of proven experience in operations, project management, or a related managerial role, preferably in a tech-driven environment.

  • Technical & Industry Knowledge

    • Familiarity with software development workflows and/or hardware production processes.

    • Understanding of Bitcoin, blockchain, or cryptocurrency mining is highly advantageous (or a strong willingness to learn).

  • Skills & Competencies

    • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

    • Excellent communication and leadership abilities, with a track record of effective team collaboration.

    • Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., Jira, Trello, Asana) and data analysis (e.g., Excel, BI tools).

  • Personal Attributes

    • Adaptable in a fast-paced, evolving industry with a high degree of uncertainty and innovation.

    • Self-starter with the ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively.

    • Passion for open-source software, cutting-edge technology, and continuous learning.

What We Offer:
  • Innovative Environment: Collaborate with a passionate team driving Bitcoin mining technology forward.

  • Competitive Compensation: Attractive salary package and performance-based bonuses.

  • Professional Growth: Opportunities for mentorship, training, and attending industry events.

  • Flexible Work Culture: Hybrid on-site/remote work options, with a modern office in Prague.

  • Impactful Role: Contribute to the development of open-source projects and shape the future of a key part of the Bitcoin ecosystem.

We look forward to hearing from you and exploring how you can be a part of our mission to advance open-source technologies in Bitcoin mining.
