Operations Manager

PORTWEST, a leading global manufacturer of safety wear, workwear and PPE is currently seeking applications for the position of Operations Manager of our factory in Cumilla, Bangladeshon a permanent basis, reporting to Production Manager, Asia. JOB SUMMARY:

Eastport Limited is a premier, high-capacity RMG manufacturing facility located in Cumilla, Bangladesh. With a dedicated workforce of over 2,700 employees, we specialize in producing world-class workwear and safety wear tailored for highly demanding markets across Europe and the USA. We are seeking a dynamic, result-oriented, and experienced Operations Manager to spearhead our plant operations, drive operational excellence, and sustain our global growth

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• End-to-End Factory Operations: Oversee complete, end-to-end plant manufacturing processes, optimizing overall workflow efficiency.
• Production & Supply Chain Integration: Supervise and coordinate functional units including PP Sampling, Cutting, Finishing, and Fabrics & Trims Stores to ensure seamless production flow.
• On-Time Delivery & Right-First-Time Quality: Guarantee complete alignment with strict buyer specifications to hit on-time shipments with zero quality compromises.
• Financial & Operational Metrics: Drive critical efficiency indicators including Cost Per Minute (CPM) monitoring and optimizing direct-to-indirect labor ratios.
• Continuous Improvement & Lean Culture: Establish, champion, and cultivate a robust lean manufacturing culture focused on continuous waste reduction and process improvement.
• Workforce Management: Implement employee engagement frameworks to sustain a stable, productive workforce and maintain low employee turnover rates.
• Global Trade Compliance: Ensure unconditional factory compliance with international statutory laws, buyer codes of conduct, safety mandates, and technical guidelines.
• Talent Development: Actively mentor, coach, and upgrade the technical and operational competencies of junior management teams.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Industry Experience: Proven leadership track record as an Operations Manager or a Senior Production Manager inside a large-scale RMG factory (minimum 2,500+ workforce scale).
• Product Knowledge: Deep, practical technical expertise in heavy woven, functional workwear, or industrial safety wear garments meant for European and US buyer networks.
• Analytical Capabilities: Solid quantitative control over plant KPIs, including line balancing, capacity planning, CPM calculations, and labor matrix analysis.
• Interpersonal & Leadership Style: Exceptional leadership capability capable of driving multi-tier teams, managing large labor workforces, and negotiating across organizational lines.
• Postgraduate Degree (Preferred): Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a concentration in Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, or Human Resource Management is highly desirable.
• Professional Certifications: Certifications in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma (Green/Black Belt), or advanced Production Management frameworks will be considered a significant advantage.
