The Operations Manager's key objective is to meet customers' needs while optimizing operational effectiveness. Additionally, the incumbent will be responsible for plant operations while driving process improvement initiatives associated with production scheduling and shipping.
Direct Reports: Customer Service Manager; Shipping Manager; Planner/Scheduler
Position Responsibilities (including but are not limited to);
- Demonstrate a commitment to Safety and perform job duties in accordance with company Safety policies and procedures.
- Works in concert with the Plant manager to ensure an appropriate balance is maintained between customer and plant production needs.
- Develop strong client and vendor relationships were necessary in support of CSR's and the Sales team.
- Actively participates in daily production meetings to maximize resource use, including production scheduling, shipping, and inventory processes.
- Monitors production & customer performance metrics to ensure targets for output, efficiency, and on-time delivery are met or exceeded.
- Develop and implement strategies to optimize production processes, reduce waste, and improve overall operational efficiency.
- Drive and collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve customer-related issues and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Assist with all safety protocols, GMP, and Quality training initiatives.
- Collaborate with CSRs and shipping teams to ensure adequate inventory levels and timely delivery.
- Attends weekly leadership meetings; has a working understanding of P&L and how actions impact results.
- Coach and develop direct reports and identify high-potential employees for levels of greater responsibility and scope.
- Ensure performance feedback and appraisals are completed effectively and on time, rewarding and recognizing excellent performance while maintaining accountability.
Qualifications:
- 4-year degree, Business Administration or Engineering preferred
- 5+ years of experience including leadership/supervisory experience is necessary preferably in a management position with experience in Production, Customer Service, Scheduling, and/or Shipping
- You should be high energy and capable of wearing multiple hats
- Position will require a high degree of independence, critical thinking, decision making, and strength in managing a diverse group of people
- Experience with 5S and Lean Methodology is a plus
- Demonstrated management skills with people, processes, and time, along with the ability to manage multiple projects/assignments
- Advanced proficiency with computer software is essential, preferable in AmTech
- Must be process and results-driven with strong communication skills with both internal and external customers, verbal and written.
