We are privately owned and have been delivering high-value, traditional & innovative athletic equipment and apparel via outstanding, integrity-driven customer service for thirty-five years. We currently have an immediate opening for a Operations Manager in our 200,000 square foot distribution center, located in Bannockburn, Illinois.

Position:

The Operations Manager oversees all aspects of warehouse operations, ensuring efficiency, productivity, and compliance with safety and quality standards. This role leads a large team of front-line employees and supervisors, managing inventory, order fulfillment, key account relationships, scheduling, and process optimization. The Warehouse Operations Manager plays a critical role in driving operational excellence, developing team members, and supporting the organization’s overall objectives through effective leadership and continuous improvement initiatives. Hours: 10am-7pm.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage daily warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, picking, packing, and shipping.
  • Lead, train, and supervise warehouse staff and supervisors—overseeing scheduling, performance management, and adherence to safety standards.
  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve warehouse systems, workflows, and processes to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment.
  • Oversee inventory management, ensuring accurate stock levels and resolving discrepancies or shortages promptly.
  • Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments to maximize space utilization and minimize delays.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with departments such as Quality Control, Sales, and Customer Service to ensure seamless operations and customer satisfaction.
  • Enforce company and regulatory safety standards, fostering a culture of safety and compliance.
  • Analyze operational data, track key performance indicators (KPIs), and prepare regular reports for senior leadership.
  • Ensure proper maintenance and cleanliness of warehouse facilities and equipment.
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve operational challenges and process bottlenecks.
  • Lead initiatives related to key accounts, including close collaboration with sales partners.
  • Oversee the returns department to ensure timely and accurate processing.
  • Champion continuous improvement using Lean and 6S methodologies.
  • Manage and support cross-departmental projects that enhance operational efficiency.
Qualifications & Experience:
  • 5+ years of experience in warehouse operations, with at least 3 years in a managerial or supervisory role.
  • Proven ability to lead teams and drive performance in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in distribution or logistics preferred.
  • Working knowledge of shipping logistics and inventory management systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and data entry software.
  • Experience with SAP, WMS, RF systems, or related tools preferred.
  • OSHA certification or strong understanding of workplace safety standards a plus.
  • Flexible and adaptable in a dynamic work environment; ability to cover multiple shifts as needed.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to interact effectively with team members, leadership, and customers.
  • Bilingual in Spanish a plus.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
  • Requires standing, lifting, and operating warehouse equipment.
  • Exposure to varying warehouse temperatures and conditions.
  • May require extended hours or weekend work as business needs dictate.

Skills Required
