Operations Manager – Securities Operations
Responsibilities
Trade Settlement & Processing – Oversight & Governance
- Review and manage the end-to-end trade settlement process across all asset classes (equities, fixed income, derivatives, funds), ensuring timely, accurate, and risk-controlled execution
- Act as the escalation point for complex settlement failures, high-value discrepancies, and systemic issues
- Manage relationships with brokers, custodians, clearing houses, and counterparties, negotiating service improvements and resolving escalated matters
- Perform the daily reconciliation for trades, positions across internal systems and external custodians/depositories, ensuring completeness and accuracy
- Review the resolution of significant discrepancies and breaks; establish root cause analysis processes to prevent recurrence
- Propose and implement governance structures to track unresolved items, ensure timely escalation, and provide management visibility on operational risk exposure
Asset Servicing – Operation Management
- Ensure the accurate processing of all corporate action events including dividends, interest payments, stock splits, mergers, rights issues, and tender offers
- Timely Review and approve notifications, election, and processing of corporate action events with zero tolerance for missed deadlines
- Perform the reconciliation of corporate action entitlements with custodians and fund accountants, implementing exception-based reporting
- Manage and streamline asset transfer processes, ensuring transactions are completed within stipulated timeframes and client expectations
- Serve as the senior point of contact for internal and external stakeholders on complex operational inquiries and escalations
Documentation, Reporting & Compliance
- Establish and maintain a comprehensive documentation framework for all transactions, processes, and operational procedures
- Ensure robust adherence to internal controls, policies, and standard operating procedures
- Full compliance with all regulatory requirements and internal policies; act as the operational liaison for regulatory changes impacting settlement and operations
- Lead or support internal and external audit engagements, ensuring timely provision of documentation, addressing findings, and implementing remediation plans

System & Process Management – Transformation & Innovation
- Perform and review daily operations across clearing and settlement systems, ensuring system stability, data integrity, and timely processing
- Identify, prioritize, and lead process improvement and optimization initiatives to enhance operational efficiency, reduce risk, and lower cost
- Drive and own new product launches, system implementations, and platform migrations from an operations perspective, including UAT coordination and sign-off
- Champion the adoption of AI Agents, RPA, and workplace automation tools to transform operational workflows, reduce manual intervention, and improve scalability
Requirements
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Financial Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field
Experience, Skills and Knowledge
- Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in securities operations, trade settlements, or financial operations
- Proven experience managing operations across equity, fixed income, and/or derivatives asset classes
- Strong knowledge of the full trade lifecycle, settlement cycles (T+1, T+2), clearing processes, and market infrastructure (e.g., SWIFT, CCASS, DTC, Euroclear, CSD connectivity)
- Deep expertise in Asset Servicing functions – corporate actions processing, asset transfer processing, income collection, etc.
- Comprehensive understanding of financial markets, instruments, and regulatory frameworks (e.g, MAS guidelines, rules and regulations, SGX rules and regulations and other relevant local regulations)
- Experience managing relationships with custodians, clearing houses, brokers, and external service providers
