Department Overview
The Operations Manager position is a leadership role accountable for the management of a team of network engineers, technicians, and support staff to deliver operational excellence for the South Australian Government Radio Network (SAGRN). 
This role provides strategic direction to ensure the best possible service levels are provided to our customers through efficient resource utilisation, effective planning and scheduling of resources, and accurate forecasting of demand.  
Job Description

What you'll do
• Leadership: Provide strong leadership to the operations team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
• Strategic Planning: Develop and implement strategies to improve operational efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance customer satisfaction.
• Service Management to ITIL4 principles.
• Change management, Incident Management and Problem Management
• Resource Management: Effectively manage human resources, ensuring proper staffing levels and skill sets to meet operational demands.
Performance Monitoring: Track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to service level agreements, turnaround times, and other metrics relevant to the operations function.
• Risk and Issue Management: Identify and manage all operational risks and issues.
• Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process streamlining and automation to increase productivity and efficiency.
Vendor Management: Collaborate with external vendors to maintain high standards of quality and reliability in logistics, service provision, and supply chain management.
• Compliance: Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and internal policies governing the operations function.
• Reporting: Generate regular reports on operational performance, highlighting areas for improvement and providing actionable insights to senior management
• Stakeholder Engagement: Build relationships with internal and external stakeholders, to align operational goals with overall business objectives.
• Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing operational effectiveness and reducing waste.


Basic Requirements

What you'll need
Minimum of (5 years +) of experience in an operational management role within a telecom or network services environment.

• Diploma / Tertiary Qualifications in Business Management, Information Technology, Computer Science or equivalent.

• Strong understanding of network infrastructure and technologies, including wireless communication, IP networking, and software-defined networking. 

• ITIL Foundations 4 framework and principles.

• Excellent analytical skills, proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques.

• Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence senior management.

• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.

• Results-oriented mindset with a focus on driving operational excellence.
