About the role
As Operations Manager, you’ll run events on the floor and keep the behind-the-scenes work moving. Most of your time will be spent leading events as the banquet captain: setting up, directing staff, and making sure the day goes well for the couple and their guests. The rest is admin: ordering liquor, building the event staff schedule, and training and overseeing the team. If you like being hands-on at events but also want to own the operations side of a venue, this is a good fit.
What you’ll do
Lead event execution: oversee setups, coordinate with vendors, direct event staff, manage timelines, and make sure everything runs smoothly from start to finish
Take care of guests: be the point person for couples and guests, and handle any concerns quickly and professionally
Manage the event staff schedule: build schedules, staff events appropriately, and handle changes as they come up
Order liquor and manage inventory: place orders, keep stock levels where they need to be, and follow all alcohol service and compliance requirements
Train and oversee event staff: onboard new team members, coach and give feedback, and hold the team to our service standards
Anticipate problems and fix them before they affect the event
Maintain health, safety, and cleanliness standards at every event
What we’re looking for
Experience as a Banquet Captain or in a similar leadership role in hospitality, ideally weddings and events
Experience supervising, scheduling, and training staff
Comfort with administrative work like ordering, inventory, and scheduling (experience with liquor ordering is a plus)
Strong organizational skills and the ability to juggle setups, guests, and team leadership at the same time
A sharp eye for detail and a drive to get every event right
A proactive, hands-on leadership style
Alcohol service certification, or willingness to obtain one
Compensation
Hourly, $30 per hour. Quarterly Bonus potential: $1,000
Additional information
Physical requirements: this role includes lifting chairs, moving tables, and helping with event setup and tear-down
Schedule: we work when our guests celebrate, so weekends, evenings, and holidays are required. Admin tasks will be scheduled around events.
