Job Summary

The Operations Manager EMEA is responsible for the European Supply Chain of DuBois and is part of the European Leadership Team (ELT).

The position has a broad range of managerial responsibilities for Procurement, Production, Building and Grounds, Inventory, Maintenance, Logistics, Replenishment, Customs, EHS and leading the company’s emergency response team (BHV). The position currently covers 3 production locations in the Netherlands (Cimcool Vlaardingen, Blendfill Vlaardingen and Blendfill Maassluis).

Duties and Responsibilities

• Responsible for overall Operations, achieving daily OTIF deliveries to customers, meeting agreed quality standards.
• Ensure a working environment where safety, quality, working conditions and the environment are important.
• Assume overall responsibility for EHS.
• Successfully managing the Operations within budget and setting up annual plan
• Propose yearly CAPEX budget and responsible for the execution of approved projects
• Manage current and future projects for potential expansion and integration
• Initiate and deliver continuous improvement, managing cost
• Development of employees and organization
• Conduct performance reviews, act on training needs and develop team.
• Manage team of 6 direct and approximately 34 indirect reports
• Act as point of contact for external stakeholders (local governmental bodies, DCMR, Fire department)
• Assume responsibility for the environmental permit for the Vlaardingen and Maassluis locations and keeping it up to date
• Upgrade and scale manufacturing operations to optimize the manufacturing capabilities of the various sites and to drive improvements in safety, costs, efficiency, and customer responsiveness.
• Act as intermediary with the EMEA Sales team and understand direct customer needs
• Assume joint responsibility with Replenishment for stock in outsourced warehouses in Europe, optimizing logistic and warehousing within Europe (who is accountable for the overall stock value) with Sales Managers.

Experience, knowledge/education

• HBO/WO level in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Technology
• Minimum of 7 years’ experience as a successful team manager within a production environment (chemicals)
• Experience with RI&E, DCMR, Permits and Capex
• Experience in leading change
• Project Management experience
• Strong people management skills
• Fluent in Dutch and English
• Working experience in an international environment and familiar with both US and local culture
