About the Opportunity

This is a rewarding opportunity to lead the operations of the East Gippsland Mental Health and Wellbeing Local, working across Bairnsdale and Orbost locations to shape how mental health and wellbeing support is delivered across the community.

You’ll lead a multidisciplinary team across clinical, psychosocial and lived experience disciplines, balancing operational leadership with service development, quality improvement and planning for the future. Working closely with our consortium partners and the local community, you’ll help ensure the service remains accessible, responsive and grounded in the needs of local people, families and carers.

About You

In addition, you’ll bring:

  • Demonstrated senior leadership experience in mental health, wellbeing or a similar setting, including lived experience leadership roles
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Allied Health, Nursing, Psychology or another mental health-related field, with AHPRA registration where applicable
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and support a diverse team across clinical, psychosocial and lived experience practice areas
  • Strong skills in partnership development, data-informed decision making and continuous improvement practices
  • A collaborative approach with a focus on safety, quality, and accountability
  • Satisfactory National Police Check, Working with Children Check and NDIS Worker Screening Check, or willingness to undertake
  • NDIS Workers Orientation module completion certificate

About the Service

The East Gippsland Mental Health and Wellbeing Local is part of the Victorian mental health reform, providing community-based support for people aged 26 years and over experiencing mental health challenges, including people with co-occurring substance use or addiction needs. Operating seven days a week with extended hours, the service provides clinical support, care and wellbeing services across East Gippsland.

Delivered in partnership between Wellways, Gippsland Lakes Complete Health and Latrobe Regional Hospital, the service is community-led and informed by the experiences of consumers, carers and the local community. The partnership continues to strengthen an inclusive, accessible and responsive service that reflects the diverse needs of people within our community.
