Operations Manager - Baltimore, MD.

This Operations Manager role is based at our Baltimore facility, which operates on a 24/6 schedule. As a unionized environment, we’re seeking a high-energy leader who is passionate about driving positive cultural change and fostering an engaging, collaborative workplace.

Manage the warehouse’s operational activities including budgeting, labor scheduling, space and equipment, safety and security, housekeeping, and sanitation. Ensure people, process and technology enable meeting all customer service standards.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Lead, train, and manage direct reports by assigning duties and providing performance feedback to drive productivity, efficiency, and effectiveness.

• Continuously enhance operational processes including verifying shipments, handling and dispositioning merchandise, and maintaining accurate warehouse inventory.

• Collaborate closely with Sales, Inventory Control, and Operations Support teams to ensure product availability.

• Forecast and plan long-term labor needs based on sales projections and management input.

• Drive achievement of company Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) related to cost control, productivity, customer service, profitability, and team development.

• Ensure facility operations comply with all health, safety, and environmental regulations; foster a strong culture of safety among team members.

• Analyze operational reports to identify trends, challenges, and opportunities; recommend actionable solutions to management.

• Build and maintain strong partnerships with cross-functional departments such as Finance, HR, Sales, and Continuous Improvement.

Additional Duties:

• Operate machinery and material handling equipment as needed.

Minimum Requirements (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities):

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in warehouse operations or direct warehouse management.

• Proficiency with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).

• Strong leadership and management skills focused on team development, customer service, communication, and operational planning.

• Effective presentation and communication skills for interacting with customers, clients, and internal teams.

• Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite.

• Ability to work in varied temperature environments—from as low as -20°F (-25°C) in cold storage to as high as 100°F (37°C) in dry storage—while wearing required PPE and freezer gear.

• Ability to lift at least 40 lbs (18 kgs), with weight requirements varying by facility.

• Flexibility to work varying schedules and shifts, including weekends as needed.

• Comfortable working in environments with varying noise levels, including loud conditions.

Pay Range:$68,500.00 - $123,300.00
