Northrop Grumman’s CIDO organization is seeking a Manager 3, Operations Manager to support the Vice President, Applications and Platforms. This role will help execute the strategic direction and daily operations of our Enterprise Applications and Platforms team ensuring the team is executing to high degree of performance, communicating effectively, and driving strategic change through the enterprise.    


This in-person role will be based out of the Falls Church, VA office.

 

Key Responsibilities 

 

  • Be a key part of the Enterprise Application and Platforms team; collaborating with the VP of Applications and other senior leaders to determine the vision, goals and priorities for the organization 
  • Support the design and run the operating rhythm for the Enterprise Application and Platform teams, including staff meetings, operations reviews and leadership offsites ensuring everyone is prepared with follow-through of actions 
  • Translate operations strategy into clear priorities, initiatives, milestones and metrics that drive consistent and exceptional performance 
  • Develop, prepare and manage high-quality executive communications and materials including presentations, briefings, talking points and written updates for senior leadership and other internal stakeholders.  
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement conducting and coordinating data analysis, capability assessments, process control, value stream mapping, failure and reliability assessments, return-to-green plans, across teams to improve efficiency, quality, speed and consistency in outcomes.  
  • Engage our stakeholders to deploy Product Ownership, Service Ownership, and Business Capability models our organization. 
  • Ensure that operational initiatives, programs and processes meet strategic business outcomes and impact, budget, regulatory, audit and reporting requirements.  
  • Work closely with Operation Managers across the organization to ensure alignment and consistency of activities through our team.  

 


Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Minimum of 9 years of professional experience.
  • Experience in developing and managing processes across large organizations.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability.
  • Candidates must have the ability to obtain a U.S. Government Secret level security clearance prior to start.
  • Candidates must have the ability to obtain, and maintain, access to Special Programs as a condition of continued employment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Six sigma blackbelt certification.
  • 9 years of management experience.
  • Project or program management experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to operate and communicate at both a strategic and hands-on level as needed.
  • In-depth knowledge and experience with resource management processes (staffing, redeployment, release processes).
  • Experience serving as a functional manager.
  • Recent experience supporting VP- and Director-level executives.
  • Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills, as well as project management, analytical, planning, and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and foster effective relationships with others.
  • Leadership roles in major program relocations, employee redeployment, and retention assessments.
  • Highly advanced Microsoft PowerPoint skills.
  • Highly advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

Primary Level Salary Range: $175,400.00 - $263,200.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
