What you will be doing
We are looking for a talented Operations Manager to lead the operations of our Back Office team. You will play a crucial role in BMAT, supporting operational decisions and collaborating cross-functionally with all the teams that serve our customers, mainly CMOs, Publishers, and Labels worldwide. Your contributions will directly impact the quality of the service we provide to our clients, making you an integral part of our team.
Key Responsibilities
- Support end-to-end operations for all our clients, ensuring they receive excellent service from our teams and can operate our products with maximum efficiency.
- Manage the Back Office operations team, setting and tracking the OKRs that will allow the team to stay organized and focus on delivering the best results, aligned with our client, team, and company strategies.
- Coordinate with our clients and the internal BMAT teams that we need to interact with to ensure all operations are executed within the expected deadlines.
- Understand the products, how they deliver value to our clients, and gather requests from your counterparts in their organizations so we can adapt our processes to the market needs.
- Enforce QA procedures at every step of the process, critically analyzing deliveries before releasing them to our clients. Detect patterns, flag errors and report to everyone involved, establishing a trusting relationship with all stakeholders.
- Understand the different revenue streams that intervene in the CMO end-to-end process and how BMAT is delivering solutions to our clients on all of them.
- Understand the different types of sources, the information they contain and their authoritativeness (CWR, CAF etc).
- Understand Multi Territorial Digital Licensing (e.g CISAC/TOWGE) .
You will collaborate closely with other teams in the Rights & Royalties area of influence: Copyrights, Matching, Data, and Claiming are pivotal teams to Back Office operations, since their work is a direct input for our team. You must ensure information flows across all teams at all times and everybody stays aligned.
- Based in Barcelona or ideally in the same timezone - remote working arrangements can be considered.
- +3 years experience working for a CMO or music publisher; copyrights expertise is a must.
- You are familiar with CISAC formats, standards, and business rules for work documentation.
- You know all about CMO operations: documentation, matching, licensing, distribution.
- You understand the importance of the relationship between CMO, publishers, and other members, and the nuances of the politics between all of them.
- Experience as project manager, technical account manager, or client support in technical environments.
- Comfortable working with large amounts of data: extraction, analysis and processing using basic tools (spreadsheets) and complex ones (databases, scripting languages).
- Highly organized, autonomous, and with strong attention to detail.
- Initiative, drive, enthusiasm, and entrepreneurial attitude.
- Excellent decision-making, critical thinking, and problem-solving.
- Passion for listening, asking, understanding, and communicating.
- Love for teamwork and learning.
- Fluency in English and Spanish is a must.
- Music is one of your biggest passions and you’re willing to learn about the music industry.
Role expectations
Within 30 Days:
During the first month, your primary focus will be on familiarising yourself with essential aspects of the role and supporting foundational tasks.

- Coordinate and assess QA processes, reviewing our deliverables and making sense of all that we deliver to our clients.
- Take ownership of the back office team’s operations, supporting and guiding them; fostering a collaborative work environment.
Within 90 Days:
At the end of the probationary period, you'll be expected to autonomously manage tasks, contribute to strategic planning, and take on leadership roles as appropriate.
