The Team
As we expand our global footprint, Coinbase Singapore is seeking a seasoned Operations Lead to establish and manage our Singaporean operations. This role is pivotal in setting up and structuring the operational framework of our Singapore entity, supporting the local compliance team to implement regulatory initiatives, and building and leading operational playbooks, projects, and programs.
What You’ll Be Doing (Responsibilities)
- Establish Operational Framework: Set up and structure the operations of Coinbase Singapore in alignment with local regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
- Outsourced Services Management: Oversee outsourced services, including intra-group and third-party providers, ensuring they deliver services in line with local regulations and contractual obligations across workstreams such as asset safeguarding, digital asset listings and customer support.
- Business Continuity Management - Lead the activation and execution of the entity business continuity & crisis management plan and oversee the BCM exercise for the entity and liaise with global teams in this area.
- Risk Management: Create local risk appetite statements and own critical areas of enterprise risk management such as business continuity, disaster recovery and other business risk areas
- Support External Requests For Information (RFI) - Take responsibility of external RFIs from banking partners and others
- Cross-Functional Delivery: Project management of critical operations and risk-related projects with cross-functional teams including legal, compliance, security, finance, product, customer service and more.
- Incident Oversight: Implement improved incident oversight mechanisms to proactively manage and mitigate operational risks.
- Stakeholder Management: Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including banks and regulators, to effectively communicate operational and risk strategies.
What We Look For In You (Requirements)
- 8+ Years of industry work experience
- Experience: Extensive experience in operations within regulated fast-moving fintechs or similar business divisions, particularly in scaling up regulated entities.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Strong understanding of Singapore financial regulations and risk requirements for financial institutions.
- Operational Expertise: Proven ability to manage first-line defense functions and oversee outsourced service providers.
- Financial Acumen: Deep knowledge of safeguarding, fiat currency setups, and ledgering processes.
- Program Management Skills: Excellent management and complex project delivery capabilities with a track record of managing across organizational functions.
- Communication Skills: Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively in a matrix organization.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail in regulatory compliance and operational processes.
Nice to Haves (Preferred Qualifications)
- Industry Experience: Experience in the digital asset or fintech industry.
- IT Security Knowledge: Understanding of IT security practices within financial services.
- Audit Experience: Familiarity with regulatory reporting and audit processes.
