ABOUT THE JOB


The Operations IT Support Specialist for Helena Industries maintains the plant's IT responsibilities in collaboration with the Helena corporate IT team.


WHAT YOUR DAY WILL LOOK LIKE


  • Assesses and analyzes problems, fully understands functionality, makes decisions based on research, performs testing in the test environment and provides documentation for team collaboration.
  • Keeps up with system software profiles and custom responsibilities throughout the plant.
  • Researches, analyzes and resolves system and interface issues.
  • Works with all employees regarding any computer, network, functionality or access issues prior to the submission of help desk tickets.
  • Follows all IT change control processes before making any changes to a production environment.
  • Works with continuous improvement teams to determine if processes need to be revised, makes recommendations if needed, and implements necessary changes for future support needs.
  • Maintains and administers all network equipment throughout the plant with HAE IT guidance.
  • Monitors manufacturing networks, servers and works with vendors to implement manufacturing related software (i.e. OEE and factory talk, vorne, cameras, etc.)
  • Manages and services plant time clocks and coordinates with vendor to open, track and resolve tickets.
  • Maintains S/W and H/W - handhelds/scan guns and printers.
  • Collects, organizes, visualizes and assimilates data in order to recognize patterns, draw conclusions and formulate solutions concerning the collection and distribution of data.
  • May be required to operate a company vehicle.
  • Provides excellent customer service to all internal and external customers.
  • Other work-related duties as assigned by leader.
  • Reliable and regular attendance is required.
  • Follows all company policies and procedures.

 

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

 

  • High school diploma is required.
  • One year of experience working in a business office technology environment is required.

 

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

 

  • Familiar with virtual technologies is required.
  • Judgment and problem-solving skills.
  • Working knowledge of software packages, including enterprise business systems, Microsoft Office and business intelligence reporting tools is required.
  • Customer service skills
  • Sets priorities and simultaneously works on multiple tasks.
  • Works in a team-oriented collaborative environment.
  • Travel by various means to plants approximately two weeks per year is required.
  • Works independently and provides updates on tasks.
  • Attends CI training classes provided by the company is required.
  • Follows HAE IT privacy and security protocols.
  • Valid U.S. driver's license is required and must meet all company requirements to drive a Helena vehicle.
  • Ability to read, write and speak in English is required.
  • Communicating in Spanish is a valuable skill at Helena.

 

Successful completion of a drug test and background check is required for all positions at Helena.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL ASPECTS OF THE JOB

The work environment for this position will be in an office setting and in a typical plant/warehouse environment where the noise level is usually moderate to loud. In this position, you will regularly work near moving equipment/mechanical parts and could be exposed to fumes, airborne particles, chemical and biological hazards, vibrations and a risk of electrical shock.

 

This position requires you to use your hands for many different tasks and to talk, hear, walk, sit, stand, (8 hours a day or more), lifting, carrying, pushing or pulling (up to and including 50lbs or more), reaching overhead (up to and including 25lbs), climbing, gripping, grasping and twisting using hands and wrists, bending and stooping for long periods of time, working below knee levels for short periods of time and working above shoulder level for short periods.
