Primary Purpose of Role
The Operations Intern supports daily distribution center activities and continuous improvement initiatives that enhance safety, quality, productivity, and workflow efficiency. This role provides hands‑on exposure to warehouse processes while assisting with documentation, operational analysis, and improvement projects across the DC.
Key Responsibilities
- The main responsibility of this position will be to assist in the completion of special projects related to operations. Other duties may include, but are not limited to the following:
- Assist with drafting, updating, and finalizing standard work instructions, SOPs, and visual guides for operational processes.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives, including workflow mapping, time studies, and 5S activities.
- Participate in data collection and performance tracking to identify opportunities for improving throughput and accuracy.
- Collaborate with warehouse supervisors and leads to streamline receiving, picking, packing, and shipping workflows.
- Help monitor daily operational metrics, escalating trends or issues that impact productivity or customer service.
- Contribute to safety program support, such as audits, checklists, or incident-prevention activities.

Qualifications and Experience
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s in Operations Management, Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, Logistics, Business, or a related field
- Prior internship, co‑op, or hands‑on project experience (academic or extracurricular) is a plus.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel or equivalent productivity tools.
