Department Overview
Payments Operations is an Enterprise-wide function within the COO Operations and undertakes Payment's activities across the enterprise supporting all lines business especially Commercial Banking (CB) and Corporate & Investment Banking (CIB) and Consumer and Small Business banking businesses across the entire client life cycle, processing more than $600B of wires daily.
Correspondent and Consumer Wire Investigations team manages payment-related inquiries. The team provides customer service for both International Group Operations and Domestic /Retail customers. These inquiries include requests on the funds status, amendment or cancellation of the payment orders, additional information to apply funds, return of funds etc. The department is supporting industry driven change programs like FED and SWIFT ISO along with
About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking an Operations Director who will be leading the Wires Investigations team. This leadership role requires management of large operation teams, high-risk processes with regulatory requirements, and responsibility for providing services to multiple enterprise stakeholders. Role owner would be leading the change and transformation agenda for Investigations department, which is supporting Industry wide change programs like FEdD and SWIFT ISO along with the wires modernization program for the Bank.
In this role, you will:

• Manage and develop multiple specialized teams of less experienced managers and professional individual contributors with focus on delivering highly complex tasks and risk services for cross functional stakeholders, internal partners associated with the function or affected by its outcome
• Work with senior management to develop and execute business plans
• Integrate efforts of cross department initiatives with core business objectives
• Identify opportunities and strategies for process improvement and risk control development within the Operations management functional area
• Provide expertise on managing the most highly complex technical and operational processes with cross-group impact
• Lead Operations management team by making strategic decisions to resolve highly complex issues to meet higher risk deliverables
• Interpret and develop range of policies and procedures relating to Operational management area
• Collaborate with and influence functional team on the operational processes and initiatives
• Provide training and guidance to less experienced staff
• Manage allocation of people and financial resources for Operations
• Develop and guide a culture of talent development to meet business objectives and strategy

Required Qualifications:

• 10+ years of Operations experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
• 4+ years of management or leadership experience

Desired Qualifications:

• Candidate must have 10+ years of Wires Investigations experience
• Candidate must have 4+ years of strategic planning, operations, or implementation experience within a financial services institution in a senior leadership capacity
• Experience leading a major function or large geographic segment of a financial services organization
• Solid budget forecasting and risk management skills
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills Ability to interact effectively with all levels of an organization; including at the executive level
• Experience managing geographically dispersed team members, including both exempt and non-exempt team members and offshore resources
• Outstanding pipeline management experience, including performance reporting and effective process design
• Experience working with offshore based providers
• Demonstrated ability to hold constructive and productive relationships with peer groups, support partners, and other lines of business
• Demonstrated experience ensuring overall compliance to include government regulations and company policies
• Relationship building and ability to drive decision making through a consensus building approach
• Demonstrated excellence at identifying stakeholders, understanding needs, and driving to resolution
• Demonstrated experience handling complex matters as they relate to wire transfer processes
• Ability to lead through transformational change and large initiatives
• Candidate must be willing to work US hours and adhere to a hybrid work arrangement based in Taguig City

Job Expectations:

• Manages middle managers and/or upper middle managers, in specialized roles
• Contributes to the development and implementation of long-term strategies, policies and technological advancements
• Considered an authority for complex technical, operational and processing functions with cross-group impact
• Responsible for complex wire inquiry management, boutique premium services, process improvement initiatives, developing and monitoring service standards, department goals and the enterprise complaint wire support process
• Foster an inclusive and diversity workforce
• Responsible for business processing models, risk and controls and adherence to all banking regulatory compliance requirements
• Strategically monitors processing/customer trend issues and quality/production standards to ensure compliance and mitigate operational
• Responsible for the quality control results, audit reviews, matters requiring attention and corrective action solutions
• Streamline hand-offs processes between lines of businesses to gain greater efficiencies and mitigate operational risks
