The Opportunity
We have opportunity for an Operations Co-ordinator to join our team in London, reporting to the Operations Manager, this role will involve all aspects of freight forwarding with a focus on customer service. Operational excellence is key to this role with focus on servicing the client and supporting the team in the branch on a day to day basis. The ability to work in as part of a team in a fast paced environment is essential.
- Deal with all aspects of international and domestic freight movements
- Monitor flights and vessel arrival times and inform the customer of delays To act as a conduit between customers and suppliers to ensure all needs are met within the specified delivery time
- liaise with overseas offices for shipment movements, taking responsibility for monitoring progress and keeping the customer advised of the status.
- Completing Customs declarations in line with UK HMRC requirements including collecting Duty and VAT payments and monitoring the use of our deferment facility.
- Raising of Customer invoices and making sure job is profitable Any other reasonable request made from time to time

What you'll need to succeed:
- Freight forwarding environment position with current hands-on experience.
- Educated to GCSE standard (minimum of 5)
- Ability and confidence to deal with customers on a daily basis
- Ability to consistently meet deadlines in a timely manner
- Flexibility in a constantly changing environment with occasional out of hours working required
